The question for most people is how long does it take you to read a Star War Book? I don't mean a children's or young adults one less than 200 pages long, but I mean any Star Wars book over 200 pages in which the majority of them are.
It takes me an average of 1 to 2 weeks to read a Star War book.
What is your reading speed in Star Wars? You can also measure in total hours if you want instead of days or weeks.
How fast can you read 30 pages is another question? Do you speed read and do 30 pages in 10 minutes, or do you take your time and it takes you almost 1 hour?
Do you tend to go faster towards the last 20% of the book, flying through 50 pages in half the time?
I take my time towards the beginning/middle of the book to get a good understanding, but when I have 50 to 60 pages left, I fly through the book to get it done with. Outbound flight though, I had to take my time the whole way through.

I tend to speed read with most books. 1 hour for the average Star Wars novel, 2 hours for long ones like Vision of the Future.

It depends what you mean by "read." Many of these books I'll actually just read at Barnes & Noble instead of buying, so I'm sort of speed-reading. The last book I did that with was Kenobi, which took me two evenings of that (five or six hours, and I was going a bit slower than usual because it's a GOOD book). On the other hand when I pulled out my old copy of "I, Jedi" last summer I definitely took my time with it, and it took a couple of weeks (in bits and pieces - while riding the bus, things like that).

That's usually how it works for me. When reading for the first time, I'll go faster. Not least because I want to know how it ends (I'm way past the "jump to the end of the book" phase, but the inner child still has enough pull to make me speed-read). When I reread, I'll go at a slower pace because I want to see if there's anything I missed, or didn't stop to think about and should have.

I'm a speed reader. Long story short, whole pages basically look like pictures to me so it goes pretty fast. A day minimum, a few hours if we're being honest; probably two. A few books last longer because if I find a book to be well written, I might read some of it aloud in order to really enjoy the language.

I tend to re-read passages with heavy battle scenes to make sure I really understand what's happening. Also, during the work week I only read at bedtime, on weekends I'll go through a few chapters a day.

So, I guess three weeks on average?

Depends on the book, if its a story i really been waiting on ill read it quick, I read "Kenobi" in a day and a half, Darth plagueis and Revan i read pretty quick too. Books like chrildren of the jedi and Shadows of mindor where i couldnt get into them at all took a week or two.

It depends, sometimes I can read them in like 8 days or so, some more, some less.

It varies, I've read some in a day or two, and others took me months.

Depends on the book. And also if I really want to read, because sometimes I have a "game hype time" or "movie hype time". Sometimes I can just sit and read a book for few hours, and then I finish them quickly (it has to be a good book and I have to be in mood), and sometimes I can stuck with one book for few weeks.
Examples? Took me 2 days to read second Darth Bane, and 1 day to read Revan, but I needed 2 months to finish Coruscant Nights I...

These books are different lengths, with different authors, and different people have different reading styles. So the answer differs.

Just pick a few star wars books that you have read that were over 200 pages long and state how long it took you to read each one.

The Supreme Chancellor How about a book written by one of these authors: Zahn, Stover, Crispin, Luceno, Keyes, Stackpole and Allston? Or you can do Denning or Karen Travis.

I just went through Force Heretic: Refugee is less than six hours and that's close to 300 pages in my hardcover trade. It took me about twice as long to get through Kenobi, not because it was longer, but because it held my interest better and I read more thoroughly. Books that don't hold my interest very well get skimmed.

A good one like X-Wing or TTT, around 4 hours. Crucible? Off and on over 3 days.

What's wrong with you, finish it before you forget what happened in the first half of the book.

If it was good enough to deserve my time I would've finished it years ago. Heck I never would've stopped reading it to begin with. [face_coffee]

One to two weeks on average.

The SW books are dessert after reading too many other things each day...

I would say with Stover, Traitor and ROTS are two of the best novels I've ever read. I could probably breeze through both of them in a day or two. But that is rarely the case with me, I like ot enjoy a book over time and don't like staring at pages for too long. My rereads of those would take me about a week I'm guessing. Good novels are meant to be savoured.

Another question, is has anyone tried to read two books at the exact same time. Well, actually reading 2 at the same time is nearly impossible, but in other words, read one book while at the same time listening to another one via audiobook? Imagine how quickly you can get through the extended universe my multitasking.

Edit: This was a joke, I wasn't expecting anyone to answer this seriously, although I could see listening to an audio book with the headphones on while playing video games.

Edit 2: Although I am starting to wonder how long most of the audio books are? Since a minority of people who have them might know. I was told Vortex clocked in at 14 1/2 hours.
