How many times is R4 gonna die?

When me and my cousin went to see ROTS in the theater we noticed that R4 was on Obi-Wan's starfighter. We were suprised because (being big star wars fans) we watched the original clone wars and saw that Ventress had already destroyed R4. She died twice.

1.By being blown up in the clone wars
2.By getting her head cut off by a buzz droid.


Dose anyone know if this is a goof by Cartoon Network that Lucas never noticed, or did they make R4 die twice on purpose?

 

I imagine that it's a goof, but I'm not sure.

 

One possibility is that they were two different R4 astromechs.

 

If my Xbox 360 exploded I could buy another one exactly like it, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

 

I dont know I definitly think its a mistake in continuity.

Probably was two different R4 units.

Long story short there was two R4 units, R4-P17 and R4-G9. R4-P17 was the one from AOTC that latter got blown up in the cartoon and R4-G9 was the one from ROTS.


R4 units are part of a generic series of droids and Obi-wan just prefers them to R2 units.

 

Two different droids...me thinks...

 

Yeah, I assumed they were two different droids, one assigned to Obi-Wan and the other to Anakin.

 

Anakin had R2.

 

Whatch the clone wars micro-series...he had a red droid.

There isnt too much visual difference between the droids,thats for sure.

 

Here's what I don't get...Obi-Wan was able to warn R2 to hit the buzz droids center eye yet did nothing to warn R4! Now either R2 is more modified which is probably the answer or Obi-Wan is a darker character than we imagined.

 

He tried to, abit too late however.

 

I know right I was watching star wars and I was wondering the same thing you think exactly the same as me.
