Assuming he is about 20 at the time of Order 66, that makes him 40 at the time of A New Hope, 80 at the time of Darth Caedus and 170 at the start of Legacy...I thought he was old, but this is ridiculous...

A'Sharad Hett is 5 years older than Anakin Skywalker, born in 47 ABY. He's chronologically 184 years old in the main Legacy time(137 ABY), but should be biologically younger because of staying in stasis for an unknown span of time. Also the years he spent on Korriban studying Xoxaan's holocron might not have aged him normally.

I wonder if he screams at sith teenagers to "turn down that infernal racket they call music"

Say "What the hell is an I-wing-Pod?"

I wonder if he sired any offspring?

I hate to be rude but dang; Legacy has been out for two years and it's been over a year since Krayt was revealed to be Hett and you bring up his age now?

But since this is ridiculous to you I suppose Yoda being over 800 years old must make your brain hurt? ;)

Yoda isn't a member of a species with a life expectancy of under two hundred years.

And why not bring up his age now? Must we only discuss new things? What if we haven't read them yet?

I have plenty of issues with the Old Jedi order rejects showing up in Legacy.

That said Hett's age doesn't bother me. I mean he's used means to extend it.

Of course I had no problem with how things were in the Bantam EU days when it was implied humans lived longer in the GFFA esp force sensitives.

I just want a consistent policy and hope that we don't get a shift back to longer lifespans because Lucas won't let them kill Luke and since he and the big three still sell books getting a retcon of his force ghost into just a projection.

Luke does die. Sometime before 137 ABY... He apears to Cade and Kol Skywalker at some other point, I forgot the dates.

I find it very amusing that you answered your own question in your original post.

Don't forget Krayt's been in stasis at least once. There's no telling how much he aged during stasis. Besides, Celeste is around 4,000 years old after Vader opens Dreypa's Oubliette with her in it.

I forget what LotF novel it was but Tempest comes to mind; Leia says something to Han about living to 120 or some such so is it really that difficult to believe that a human Jedi or Sith could live beyond that? That's not even including the stasis he entered for a while and in the laws of make-believe who says you age in stasis? In theoretical space travel the passengers are always cryogenically frozen so they don't die during the journey I think Krayt's stasis is probably similar.

To be nick-picky isn't better to bring up new topics rather than re-hash old events? At the end of the day whether you agree with a choice made by someone the choice is made. It's like Krayt's age issue for some people rubs them the wrong way but it will most likely play a role in his eventual downfall. (ie how weak Cade thinks Krayt is) What if Cade heals Krayt and then he just withers away ala Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? It would be rather ironic that the think Krayt fears the most is what's keeping him alive. Sometimes irony hurts :)

In real world physics and laws of nature the idea of a 184 year old seems ridiculous, but at the same time so does an 80 year old fighting an 800 year old Yoda. The fact that he is old enough to know the Chosen One personally doesn't bother me at all.

I guess at the end of the day I want to know why the age issue bothers someone and any findings of ridiculousness don't count. It doesn't make your opinion invalid and everyone has one and should have one but simple statements to start a thread make an honest effort to dabate said opinions difficult.

Wow. I never checked that but I would have guessed he was a decade older than Anakin. He seemed to be nearing 20 when he was brought to the Temple shortly after an eight(?) year old Anakin. When they had their little brawl/tell-all session on whatever that planet was.....Anakin seemed to be in his late teens while Sharad seemed to be near 30.

I'm actually pleased that this thread came up. ;)

There's stories of Taoist ascetics living well into nearly a century and a half. And that's within the last century. Of course, that's ascetics, with strict training an dietary regimens and meditation. All aimed at longevity and enlightenment. I'm not astounded by such things with Jedi or even Sith... but regular folks, I'm not sure technology can go that far.

Anakin would have been in his early 20s. It was during the Clone Wars and the guy turned 20 just prior to the events of AOTC.

Okay . . . since we're talking about ages, can I ask how old Solo is?

I'm thinking, 29 at Yavin. 54 when the Vong came. 59 when they ended five years later. Legacy is ten years later. He's currently around 69 right now. Is that about right?

Do we know how old Ackbar was too?

Han was born 29 BBY, so yes, that's about right.

Ackbar, I've frequently heard somewhere around 44 years before Yavin, but I'm not sure where it was mentioned or if it has any basis.

IIRC, according to the Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook Ackbar is in his mid-fifties. So, for arguments sake, lets say 55 years old in 5 ABY. Ackbar dies in 29 ABY, making him 79 or 80 at his death.

I am pretty sure that Mon Calamarians can live longer than that. Luke points out in Destiny's Way that Ackbar's condition is partly connected to the way he drove himself during the GCW. Hell, I am suprised more Rebel heroes didn't pass away young.

A Sith over 50 never reveals his age....

His age is not a stretch to believe at all. The dark side is a pathway to many abilities some might consider unnatural. Living nearly 50 years or so past the normal human lifespan is pretty incredible.

But that mixed with the fact that he has his own stasis chamber makes his age very believable...in a SW kind of way. There is already a precedence for stasis technology freezing someone's age (Celeste anyone?).

Krayt should be just fine. If it wasn't for his Vong growths he would probably have about thirty more years in him.

I never understood why people got uppity about the advanced ages of Sith socerors (Krayt et al) and huminoid aliens (Aurra Sing et al). Force users ought to be able to do all sorts of crazy unknown things, and aliens ought to have crazy unknown biology. Not that the Aurra thing has much to do with the topic at hand, just something that always irked me. ;)

Arden Lyn was the oldest living human in recorded history, sleeping in twenty-four-millennia-long hibernation, she actually outlived the entire Republic.

Celeste Morne & Darth Krayt got nothing on her. Kids get off my lawn!
