So just how powerful is Roan Fel? Is he along the lines of a Grand Master? Do you think he could beat Krayt? I am hoping that Krayt will fight him sometime.

I don't think we'll see how powerful he is exactly until we have the answer of whether or not he is of Skywalker blood.

If he isn't Jaina's descendant then I'd expect him to be around Mace Windu's level, possibly a bit lower (which I think Krayt is similar by this point in time).

If he is Jaina's descendant then I'd expect him at the same level as all the other Skywalkers. In which he could probably beat Krayt, but it would still depend on the circumstances (Krayt has a hell of a lot more experience, and even Obi-Wan beat a Skywalker, so circumstances can play a huge part in a battle, not just power levels... after all if Roan is a Skywalker, so is Mohrgan, and Krayt beat him - granted Mohrgan was outnumbered by that point and we've only seen a couple of frames from that fight so who knows exactly what determined Mohrgan's defeat)

I personally suspect he'll turn out a Skywalker so his power levels are through the roof, but I don't think we'll see until the novels catch up with proving the descent issue.

The only evidence we have up to this point of his abilities is his fight vs Darth Kruhl....... he pretty much mopped the floor with him, and although we don't know what level Kruhl is at, it was implied he was one of Maladi's best assassins, so that would imply pretty strong.

don't be so sure of that. If Roan's a descendant of Jaina and Jag, Morghan could be descendant of Jag's brothers or sisters.

About Roan - I think he isn't very powerful. He and his knights haven't mastered any side of the force, I thinks he's on Darth Bandon level.

    What's there to master?

He is the legitimate Galactic Emperor, and is therefore entitled to the most power of all by birthright. QED.

I doubt he's that powerful as a force user or a duelist. You can hardly say that he defeated Kruhl through raw power. He ran from the throne room because he knew that even with a retinue of Knights he couldn't fight the Sith upfront.

I guess he is he more stronger than his imp knights,i mean he proved he is the boss almost every time, even when his knights disobeyed him.
He is old and smart enogh to fight with cold blood.
Thats what we know about him.
He bested Kruhl he wasnt exactly a the strongest sith.
I would wreally love to see a Roan vs Nihl match.

In my mind, Roan Fel is about as strong as your typical Jedi Knight, however, he is far more cunning and tactically sound. That's what gives him the edge in a battle. As the Emperor, I doubt he has much time just to train. We've had many presidents who were war vets and may have been capable of fighting terrorists, for instance, hand to hand, but why would they?

I think that gives him more of an edge than the Skywalker thing. He's got to be more skilled than his IK's as he's also a Jedi. I'd put him up there as any powerful Jedi who isn't a Skywalker only because there are just so many Skywalker's/Solo/Fel's running around in this era I don't want to think all of them with this insane midi-chlorine level. He may be a Skywalker descendant but I'm putting him up with Dooku or Mace and that ain't bad. Course none of us really know yet.

Even if he turns out to be decended from someone else(Say Kyp) he still could be quite powerful. His ducking of Krayt had a lot more to do with Sith numbers dwarfing IK numbers...... meesa thinks.:)

To paraphrase Luke: "Well, more power than you can imagine!"
Han: "...I can imagine quite a bit."
    ;)

Roan's got heady magnetism, a shrewd mind, knack for self-preservation, refined good looks, and despite his very dignified bearing there's a hint of fellow-next-door that makes him appear extremely personable (excepting a very steely side). Who could best that type of virulence? It's enough to make anybody and their strill quake (Krayt would have to summon up the Force to have the same effect *kidding*). :p

Seriously, though, I get the feeling he has some secret abilities up his sleeve -- definitely not a man to be underestimated. I think that a major power of his is in giving people the impression that he's an easy defeat. And I suspect that his true capability is beyond imagining (in the sense of his uniqueness). He very much couples that essence of a humble non-Force user with someone who is latently powerful with it, and possibly plays that power down. His advantage perhaps is in tending to come across as just a normal fellow, yet one who understands a bit of the old ESP. That dual essence giving him a killer angle -- as a Jedi might in training with a Mandalorian. In short: I think there's more to him than meets the eye. Still waters run deep, as they say.

I hope they continue to allow Fel to out-think and out maneuver his opponents. Remember the Count of Monte Cristo? It's not always the stronger swordsmen who wins....

I always imagine him to be Grandmaster level, with Kol and Krayt, usually. If he's related to the Skywalker's, then yes, definitely.

I agree. He's got that quality in him, and I hope it'll only heighten and get more complex. I almost wrote earlier: it's not always the Force that wins the day, though a little bit of both can go a long way.

This will not go over well...

If Fel were on par with Krayt, then why didn't he face him when he knew the Sith were coming to usurp the throne? (No excuses please) I bet Krayt (even in his weakened condition) would have wiped the floor with Fel's royal ass. (IMO, killing Krayt's minion was more about Kruhl's s failure, than it was about Fel's success.) Aside from his sharp tactical mind, Fel has done little to impress me.

I would assume Fel didn't throw hands with Krayt because The One had the Empire in their pocket well before Krayt officially took the throne. How smart would it have been to make a move on Krayt and The One with a handful of IK's? The goal is to stay alive to retake the throne, not go out in a blaze of glory. That's my guess.

Or maybe Fel knew that he couldn't hold Krayt's armored jockstrap, so he opted for plan B. For some it's, live to fight another die, for me... if yer badass enough, and you know it, then you show up and fight. If yer not, then I guess you have to send somebody else to die for you.

Who am I to question the man's self-preservation skills?
I'm just sayin I don't like the way Fel handled his business there.

    Krayt>Nat or Kruhhk>=Roan Fel>Master Sazen>Cade>Shado>Draco/Sia

Krayt is a fully trained Jedi Knight,AND a fully trained Sith Lord!!! = ultimate bad ass

Nat Skywalker may have been the second most powerful Jedi behind his brother (sorry but he MUST BE) especially if they MAY HAVE HAD THE SAME TRAINING (being older of the two)..possible he could have been trained by Luke?

Kruhhk just cause the Hat rules..and he fought in the Clone War..any Jedi to survive that, see Krayt for highly motivating adjective..

Roan Fel (if indeed seed of Jaina and Jagged) then he is equal or just a lil bit less stronger than Nat or Kruhhk..To be Emperor,he had to be a strong leader and warrior otherwise the Moffs would have tried other means to sabbotage him..(meaning Sith was the break glass in case all fails)

There you have it!! btw..since Legacy revolves around Cade and he went right thru Krayt's hands..and is the heir to the Skywalker (hero) throne, then he should be second.

    why..cause Shado knows!!

pfft Roan knew he was outnumbered, even Anakin has retreated from situations, and he's never faced multiple Sith Lords with only a handful of Knights backing him up.

I don't want to see my characters who are supposed to be badass act stupid, sorry.

the IK's there were Mohrgan and three others, Krayt whipped through the three Sidious vs Mace's posse style, issue 8 implies to me Mohrgan survived a bit longer, but by that point he was up against the 4 top Sith Lords by himself... even a Skywalker wouldn't like those chances....

plus Roan didn't know how many of the Sith were coming either, sure if Mohrgan and he are Skywalkers then two Skywalkers might have been able to fight of Krayt, Maladi, Wyyrlok and Nihl togethor.... maybe (and is that a risk you wanna take when you have an entire Empire as your responsibility?), had there been more even together, two Skywalkers couldn't have hold off those Sith (remember these guys aren't the run of the mill cannon fodder we see Kol take out on Ossus, they are the heads of the Order)

Sure Cade took on several but lets be honest Krayt didn't join that fight till after Cade had taken down Talon and Nihl..... so it was really a 2 to 1 fight at most, which didn't last long since Cade managed to take Talon out really early with a lucky shot.

And if Mohrgan isn't a Skywalker (if he's a second cousin - however until it states something like that I think its safe to assume he's first cousin) and Roan is, then it would only be one Skywalker vs the four top Sith.

I?d be very surprised if Fel isn?t a descendent of the Skywalker clan, namely Jaina Solo. However I also reckon the Skywalker blood has been thinned by numerous non-force sensitives over the generations.

My guess is that Fel is strong, but not uber strong.

As far as his training goes he appears to be on the same level as a Jedi master, although his talents lie in the martial areas (as do all the imperial knights).

Honestly I'm not impressed with any of the Fel's in the force department.

Especially if they turn out to be descendants of Jaina. I'm still hoping they aren't.

I don't buy the whole idea that they'd be more watered down since Roan would be the same number of Generations removed from Anakin as Nat and Kol if Jag is the first emperor. (And Nat and Kol aren't Ben's sons but Grandsons)

I've heard a legend that his "badassery knows no bounds." ;)

Although in all honesty, I tend to agree with most of the people here. He's powerful, but his Emperor-status probably keeps him too busy from honing his skills to their max.
