I loved the first one though I kick mysel ffor not seeing it in theatres. I assume they are just not finished with it. I am not sure what % of films do reshoots in post production but in cgi animated films I would think it would take longer than it would for just having a live actor show up and redo some lines. A whole year though? Damn.
Nice! Just that teaser looks amazing, so I can't wait to see the final product. Dreamworks has really stepped up its game in recent years, since they've stopped doing stupid **** like Over the Hedge and Bee Movie. (though I haven't seen The Croods, which at least looks up to par animation-wise)
I saw the first one in the theater and was kicking myself for not seeing it in 3D. Aiming for IMAX 3D for this one.
Is this the first time this footage was released? I saw this back in April at work. My son and I loved the first one, we and saw it 3 times. Looking forward to this one too.
The first film I err... contrived to miss until a few months ago. What a wonderful thing it was, though. Seeing Toothless again gave me goosebumps. There's was a sense of true freedom in the flight sequences of the original, and that teaser holds and perhaps even exceeds the standard. Can't wait.
Interview with Dean DeBlois, the writer and director of HTTYD 2: Kit Harrington and CATE BLANCHETT!!!
I love that the sequel is taking place years after the original. Gives them very different world to explore rather than leaping straight in with a direct continuation.
Yeah, five years according to Wikipedia. I absolutely love HTTYD, but I hadn't really been keeping up with the production of part 2. The end of the original hinted at a more mature story to come, and this all but ensures it. Glad it's not simply going to be a re-hash.
Dreamworks should have come up with a better title for the film. HTTYG2 makes it sounds like the kid's got a real dumbass dragon, that he needs to train a second time.
So if the movie takes place years later, does this mean that Hiccup will now be voiced by Gerard Butler? Because that would be friggin' hilarious.
