Does anyone possess the knowledge on how to translate dialogue from English to Huttese?

I don't think there is a definitive language, so I'd reccomend mixing a lot of spanish with a little italian and french-sounding words to get the desired effect.

I don't know of anyone who can speak it fluently (heck, I doubt even the man himself can :p ), but you might want to check out the "Star Wars Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide", it's got some simple phrases that you might be able to use. It's also got a few other languages such as droid, Shyriiwook (Wookie), etc. It's pretty cool, I got mine at B&N for about $8.00. You might wanna check it out.

Well, about the 'French sounding' part, I'd say no. In all examples of Huttese we have from the movies, nothing in it sounds like French.

    How I do my Huttese:

I copied down the phonetics of Huttese lines spoken in the movies. Then I scramble those and make fun lines.

For example, Sebulba's line "Yoka tu bantha poodoo" tells us that a "yo" and a "ka" sound exists in the Huttese language.

I am very proud of how authentic-sounding the Huttese turned out in "Young Jedi: High School Student" and "Run Leia Run".

Here are the Huttese lines spoken in both films if you want some inspiration.

    YJHSS:
Mee kee tinka uni go yupa hosa oh onechong.
My kooka Steve du Hutt. Chon no kanshi prays ayes as me teychalie.
Koong te malota. Chu kownoo nolia danago. Kaa blinkee bana su ayes ohwa pee yoka... cawonchee.
Bachuway una te su koo tatcha Jedi to wahota mee de coona no prays tah my leemoo neelcho mu pedunkee, kow magna yaloka a.

    RLR:
Cheski pakota. Klees Jabba royu moko nayee boopa. Chego ya dona. Ka yatta blinkee me kooka.
    Da ka mika!
    Mino ya kodu Leia.
    Oota goota, Organa?
    Ni manni cho kunda.

    Rick McCallum loves you!

And Star Wars people call Trekies nerds for translating Klingon.

Admit it, you're all more like the dreaded Trekies than you think!

Speaking as someone who's not at all afraid to admit the reality of that point, I think this stuff is great!
I've already read about 90% of this stuff and my mind's ear was doing it in Jabba's voice. All very authentic sounding.

And yet, TFN's "Huttese phrases" is still incorrect...

    POODOO MEANS FODDER, NOT EXCRETEMENT!

Yeah, I saw that one to. Totally invalidates that whole translation page!!

I'm beginning to think that this is another case of Lucas not knowing the meaning of a word. (Kinda like that whole Parsec thing). Perhaps he really thinks that "fodder" is excrement and not food.
