I made the finals of the local Wing Bowl but will have a real problem eating more wings then some of the other guys entered. Does anyone have tips that will help me get more wings down without them coming back up?

As a person who ran a Wing-a-Thon event for my fraternity, here are the tips I have:

    1) Stay away from the drumsticks -- use wings ONLY. The drumsticks will slow you down (though they are tastier).

    2) Use only "naked" wings -- don't use wings with breading.

    3) Practice the "one swipe" method for wing eating. This involves finding the "sweet spot" on the wing (the bottom, unopenable joint on the wing) and pressing it firmly in the center which should cause the far end to spread a little. Then you can pop the whole wing in your mouth and suck the meat off as you pull the wing out, enough to pass muster with the judges to count as a stripped wing.

    4) Don't boot -- if it doesn't stay down; it doesn't count.

    1) Stop doing wings contests.
    2) Do a shrimp eating contest. Red Lobster has all-you-can-eat shrimp right now.

Hmmm. Maybe I can do the all-you-can-eat shrimp to prepare for the wings.

Everyone in the contest will be eating drumsticks to avoid any issues with bone counting.

This contest will be more about pacing then speed I think. The first round is 14 minutes long.

Jaster, it was all over the radio (ESPN RADIO). I went to one of the qualifying locations to get some free wings and now I am in the finals.

I have been searching aroud and it appears the I should eat a lot for the days leading up to the contest to stretch out my stomach. That WILL NOT be a problem!

The day before the contest eat a pound of grapes. This will stretch your stomach and will pass easily giving you more room to stuff wings.

Yes, yes, to Qui-Gon Moon you listen!

Also, it's good to get all the meat in one motion, like stated earlier. Grab the thick part with your teeth, and then pull the bones out, press your tongue between the two bones that are movable, and take the meat from there, too.

You could do what Homer did and coat your tongue with wax so you can't taste them...

A pound of grapes? Hmmm. Not a bad idea. Should I actually eat them the day before or earlier that day?

Eat a whole crap load of rice everyday about a week before the Comp. That will stretch your stomach out really good. Then that day eat some rice in the morning and then if the comps in the afternoon you should be good!

    Good LUCk!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. Actually I am only slightly overweight. You wouldn't notice it though.

I have been wondering if olive oil would actually help in some way. Would Pepto Bismol(sp?) beforehand help?
