I finally got to watch "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" last night

Good god, this movie ******* blows.
I'm guessing that the only reason it's so popular is that it started off a number of great actors (Forrest Whitaker!) and actresses (Jennifer Jason Leigh!).

But holy crap dude.

 

Who and who?

 

I always figured LeeKenobi as a "Sound of Music" type of guy.

 

That's so weird, because I touched myself to the pool scene last night!

 

Oh please - you're doing a great disservice to Judge Reinhold!

 

Forrest Whitaker who won an Oscar for playing dictator Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland.

And Jennifer Jason Leigh, she played Tom Hank's wife in Road To Perdition as well as Kathy Bates' sexually abused emo daughter in Delores Claiborne.

Oh please - you're doing a great disservice to Judge Reinhold!

He did that himself by signing on to The Santa Clause and its sequels.

Name a recent teenage "sex" comedy..that's better.

I had a feeling I'd open this only to find hate.

 

Honestly, this movie really doesn't age well. Especially if you were old enough to see it during the "heyday" of its popularity.

 

I think you're forgetting another big factor. Two of them, actually.

 

American Pie.

Those hold up well on film. But what about in real life?

Droopage, droopage.

 

Superbad rocked I can't recall a movie that i laughed more consistently through.

 

The "pool scene" is hot, but the drawback is that the VHS tape wears out.

 

For its time that was a cool movie. I can bet you that 20 years from now if not already people will say that Napoleon Dynamite (or whatever movie you really like) sucked. It's all relative. I don't think it was Oscar worthy but it did introduce the world to some talented actors that work and continue to work. Sean Penn acted like a total stoner, but it was funny at the time.

 

I can bet you people now thought it sucked...

 

Napoleon Dynamite can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch!

For me, movies like Fast Times and Breakfast Club are timeless. I can watch them over and over.
