You should focus your rage into something positive. Like building birdhouses. It worked for The Fonz.

    Amazing.

I took AP classes for a while, though none of them were Physics. I mean, what can be so difficult about that? :p

One end of a horizontal string of linear density 4.6 10-4 kg/m is attached to a small-amplitude mechanical 65 Hz vibrator. The string passes over a pulley, a distance L = 1.50 m away, and weights are hung from this end, Fig. 11-48. Assume the string at the vibrator is a node, which is nearly true.

What mass must be hung from this end of the string to produce a standing wave with the following number of loops?
    (a) one loop
    kg
    (b) two loops
    kg
    (c) five loops
    kg

Why can the amplitude of the standing wave be much greater than the vibrator amplitude?

The only thing I know about Physics is that my old Physics teacher used to throw rulers into the air and try to catch them again. He nearly always failed.

I remember taking AP Physics junior year of HS. Which one are you taking- calc based or trig based? I took trig based and thought it sucked. I don't believe I ever got above a 60% on a test, though thankfully my teacher curved the tests to reflect how the AP tests are scored so I ended up passing both the class and the test. And it was completely worth it because now I don't have to take physics in college, yeah!

Oh, so you think you're better than me since you took it during your junior year and I'm taking it during senior year? Huh?:p

    I'm taking AP Physics B, non-calculus physics

I took AP Physics B. I passed the class on a curve, but only got a 2 on the AP test. That test was a *****. Physics A is much easier, once you've learned calculus. Makes WAY more sense.

i plan on majoring in Mechanical Engineering, then getting a degree in theoritical physics. But right now the class is really really hard. It should get better though, its just a really really hard chapter right now.

You think h.s. is hard. Wait for Mech Engineering and grad physics classes. [face_skull] :p

    Constructive interference FTW!
