I am curious about several things about the Statue of Liberty.

What's it like knowing that the Statue is a mere boat ride away?

Do you pay the Statue respect, or avoid it?

What kind of measures are in place in case it ever rouses?

Were you affected the last time it was awoken, or do you know anybody who was?

The eighty-fourth anniversary is quickly approaching. What do you plan on doing then?

Timely responses will be appreciated. :)

My grandmother was gravely affected by it.

Oh, I know they were serious questions. It was the OTHER guy("Bacon") who was poking fun at it.

    Anyway...

What's it like knowing that the Statue is a mere boat ride away?

    - To be able to access a national monument is always a good thing. Not only can you see it live...you can actually see it close up. I've never actually been to the Statue of Liberty myself, but one of these days I will likely seize the chance to visit it.

Do you pay the Statue respect, or avoid it?

    - It's the symbol of enduring freedom in the face of terrorism and oppression. We'd be insulting ourselves if we disrespect it. It's a matter of pride, and a symbol of the sacrifices we have made to keep our freedom.

What kind of measures are in place in case it ever rouses?

    - As mentioned, I never visited it, so I have no idea what security measures are in place...but rest assured that in the wake of the attacks of 9/11, we've become increasingly vigilant and safety measures have been no doubt implemented since then. ESPECIALLY in the wake of 9/11.

Were you affected the last time it was awoken, or do you know anybody who was?

    - How do you mean by "awoken"?

The eighty-fourth anniversary is quickly approaching. What do you plan on doing then?

    - Acknowledge the anniversary in my own way...perhaps pay it a visit if the opportunity beckons.

I think that about sums up my responses. Anyone else?

    - Johnny

How can a New Yorker be ignorant of the threat the Statue faces?

It inspires in me an even mix of reverence and fear.

Do you pay the Statue respect, or avoid it?
I avoid it! I don't know why so many people choose to take their lives into their hands by visiting it! Why they want to regain the right to enter the crown, I can't comprehend.

What kind of measures are in place in case it ever rouses?
Jesus, Buddha, Joseph Smith, and the rest of the Superbestfriends have prepared a copper John Wilkes Booth especially for this eventuality. It is stored under Staten Island.

Were you affected the last time it was awoken, or do you know anybody who was?
My grandfather lost his right eye defending the city from the lady of the harbor.

The eighty-fourth anniversary is quickly approaching. What do you plan on doing then?
I will spend the day at home hiding under my bed just in case.

These are pictures of my grandmother's life after the Lady Liberty had her vengeance. She did everything Tobias Bandit wanted her to do. She even rode on a horse next to a roller coaster on a beach.

She also got her legs stuck in the horse and the horse had to have her surgically removed from his back. And she was also the inspiration for the 'Barbie' Doll. And the picture was painted, so that's why it looks cartoony.
