I JUST CLEARED 85 PROBLEMS WITH SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY!

I'm lucky I caught it before something really bad happend!

 

My best friend once found like over 1000 using adaware AND spybot!!!

 

DAMN!!! Internet hackers really need to be drug out into the street and shot.

 

What the hell are you people doing to collect so much crap?

I cought, like, one thing once with Spybot.

 

That's because you only have crappy 56k.

I've caught like... 96 things with Spybot once.

I got sick of going home for vacation and putting up with my dad's computer, so I cleaned it quickly with Spybot and AdAware one day and got over 400 malware products off it.


(As a note, the majority of what these programs catch is usually tracking cookies, but then also keyloggers and such)

 

I Have Microsoft AntiSpyware and its really really good.

I have only had like 4 cases of spyware though, ever, and I have DSL.

I use Macaffe and never had any serious problems.

You do know that theforce.net (and the JC) is a non-official site, right?

 

You guys should get something like Norton Internet Security. (or at very least a firewall). It keeps most of that junk out of your comp.

 

The most I ever got from Spybot Search and Destroy was the DSO exploit and the Firewall disable notify (both of which I was fully aware of). I have never gotten any detections from Ad-Aware. The problem with NIS and NAV is that it's a system hog.

 

^That's true. NIS does take up alot of system memory. Especially if you don't have a lot of RAM.

 

Look in to the free version of ZoneAlarm - it's a great little software firewall.

 

you guys do know that the reason we have programs like Spybot S&D is b/c we dont know when spy ware gets on our computers

 

I think AdAware, Spybot etc. are actually adware and spyware themselves. I sense a disturbance in the Force...

 

Between adawre,ewido, spybot and a special one that I had to use to take IE a part to find the code I found over 1200 things on my roomies comp.

 

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The only reason you've only had "4 cases of spyware" is because you are using microsoft. I've tried it the last couple of months. Every night at 1:00 it runs its little spyware check. Every night at 1:00 said spyware check comes back clean so I'm feeling pretty good. I decided the other day to run my spybot for old times sake. 41 items.

 

Right, and Symantec pays programmers to program viruses.

I only ever get four 'problems' on Spybot / Adaware - which is a result of my Norton software telling the windows anit-virus/firewall to safe off after boot up. (ie they are not problems, but I could see why spybot would think they were)
