I'm using AE 6.5 and i've played with the color balance settings and i just can't get the right pink.
Can any one give tell me how I can get a pink saber?

Well, let's see.. Pink is a mixture of red and white. And since there is a "red" slider in Color Balance, and the blade starts off white... well, nudging that "Red" slider a hair to the right will do the trick.

If you can't find the colour you want with the Color Balance filter, toss on a Hue/Saturation/Lightness filter, and adjust the Hue until you get what you want. For colours other than the primaries, I find this takes a lot less effort.

That wouldn't be that interesting, though. Given the hard plastic armor. Probably chafe pretty badly, too.

Eh, the armor can't be that sturdy. I'd give it a few good bounces before it comes off.

Yeah, we have far too many girls around here that we need to put them off with a discussion like this one. :p

Although, i'm firmly in the "they would come off" camp on this one. It's all about g-forces. Somebody at NASA could probably work out just how many bounces etc.

    lol.

On a side note, I work the front desk at a hotel and I am at work now. I just checked in a highschool's girl's basketball team. Bad thoughts out good thoughts in, bad thoughts out good thoughts in.

Naturally your first reaction was to post about it on a Star Wars forum. I'd say you don't have anything to worry about. ;)

Ok, I was just trying to be funny with the bad thoughts, good thoughts comment. Let's try to keep me out of jail umkay? Let's get back on topic before I get into too much trouble. :)

I would think that a pink lightsaber would not be difficult at all using the Color Balance option in Adobe Photoshop but you may want 5 to 6 layers of lightsaber blades (all but one layer gaussian blurred) to get good color saturation. I find having only 4 layers as in Ryan's tutorial to be not enough for my personal preference. I hope that helps.

Well I kind of fell behind on the comments so let me catch my self up.

    Funk-E: hahaha that was funny.

    Jedi2016: I'll try it.

Jedi_Spiff: I'll try that too and then compare it to Jedi2016's method.

Evil-Henchman: I don't think I want to take the time to work with Photoshop when I have AE.

And just if you guys were wondering why I need a pink lightsaber I?ll tell ya.

I'm making a movie called gamers and the main character has a Jedi outcast dream. And when he turns on his lightsaber it turns out to be pink, and because its a dream he doesn't have control over what happens in it?. Then he ends up fighting some guy and loses.

Yeah its hard to explain but I could just say, I was curious.

Dangit.. I was about to make one too, but then realized I'm at home and there's no photoshop on this computer.

If no one has done it by the time I get back to school, I'll make one.

    =P
