    Heya costumers,

This is my first time in this corner of the Force.net, and I am not a huge costumer but I have a question.

Has anyone ever dealt with eBay seller "costumebase" from Singapore? What is the quality of his items? Jedi costumes and Jedi blets specifically.

I thought perhaps this summer it might be time for a new outfit and I like the look of his stuff but want to know those couple things anyway.

    Thanks! :)

I've only bought an Imp Officer hat from them. The material quality was nice, the construction was nice, but I have to replace the greeblie on the front. They aren't 100% accurate, but I would imagine that with minor alterations anything from them could be.

Okay, technically, I go to their "shop" here and there and some of us here gotten minor parts like Imperial Officer Hat or Jedi Belt from them.

For their Jedi Outfits, the last I check, they are well-made tho' not accurate. The Obi-Wan Outfit looks the nicest and they used similar fabric with the Tunic Sleeves Lined. For Anakin's Outfit, the last I check, they used Cotton Drill for the Tunic and Obi apart from probably vinyl for the Tabbard.

One thing I hate about their Jedi Outfits is that they put "sponge" paddings in the Tabbards and Obi.

As for the Belt, I haven't gone to see their latest version but it looks better. Still made from Vinyl/Pleather. For the accesories, the Jedi Food Capsules Design seems to have been improved tho' still not accurate. The Pouches still range between Wood ones to Compressed Styrofoam and ?? I think.

As for Customer Services, it's good and the seller do reply to PM. Ya, he does delivered it seems currently.

If you're interested in buying the costume and got the time, try to get it through eBay auction as you might be able to get it below the selling price. Just be sure to remember what's the current selling price of the costume and be warn that the costumes are made in "Standard Size" so might not fit all body types.

i have the obi uppers part of that sellers jedi costume. another persons girlfriend got it for him, but it was too big, lucky for me, so he put it on ebay, where i found andf got it myself. lucky for me, it fits me. materials pretty darn close to accurate type and the only thing wrong on mine, is the sleeves are just a 1 inch too long on me. but perfect fit on everything otherwise.

not bad for 30 bucks i paid for mine.

DE hit the nail on the head. it all depends on how accurate you would like to go. If you would like to get as close you can to screen accurate as possible then i wiould say stay away from them cause you are goign to have to redo most of the stuff anyway so it would just be a waste of money for you my friend. But if you want a nice costume to wear around for a good price then there you go. Hope this helps.

I bought an Imperial Rank bar from them, not a problem.

I bought my husband a Han Solo costume from them. I bought the medium but when it came, it was really big. We had to take it to a tailor and get it taken in. Now that it fits, it looks great. They were great to deal with as well. Everytime I emailed questions to them, I got a response the same day. I hope that helps.

They also have the most accurate X-wing pilot jumpsuit available. Not so much on the vest that comes with it, but the orange flightsuit itself is amazing.

I can't really speak for their Jedi items specifically, though. Costumebase seems to be either really good or rather sub-par on an item-by-item basis.

I agree. I recently got parts of a couple separate costumes from them. They were very responsive to questions and comments. I am very happy with the quality regardless of the accuracy. In my case, I got some Solo and Maul parts and I can't really complain about the accuracy either.

Some of their stuff is pretty decent. Of all the Star Wars costumes out there, it is the pilot jumpsuits, both Imperial and Rebel are the most accurate.

The material is decent enough. It is their sizing that is an issue. In my experience, I've ordered stuff according to their size chart and it came in either too big or too small.

Their Imperial Officer uniforms (from what I have seen first hand from someone trying to get into my garrison)is seriously lacking in quality. The fabric quality isn't bad, but how the outfit goes together is less than desirable. Their rank badges are no where near accurate. They look cheap and crappy. (no offense to those who own them). I have an officer's uniform for my 501st trooping, although not officially approved yet.

Their fabric for the ANH desert Luke is spot on, again, sizing is the issue. The Jedi stuff seem pretty spot on as well. Other stuff like belts and such appear to be fairly accurate. Again, sizing is going to be an issue.

I can't speculate about the Boba Fett jumpsuit, as I have never seen it up close.

The soft part of the Rebel Endor Trooper hat is nowhere near being accurate to the films.

In short, some of their stuff is ok. If you aren't worried about screen accuracy, then for their price points, they aren't a bad deal. However, sizing is key. Stuff like officer's hats tend to run a size larger. In my case, the size chart indicated I needed a large. Come to find out the medium fit me way better. The ANH desert Luke costume was too small, and that was a large, as the sizing chart had dictated for my size. But it should be noted that they do have excellent costumer service.

So there is an honest and fair assessment of their goods from a 501st garrison membership liason.
