    ...
I used to be around 170 lbs, my weight changing intermittently due to my constant work outs. It would either increase from 170, or decrease about 5 or so pounds in either direction.

However, I've had the flu for a week and it's finally leaving me now. Thus, I haven't been able to work out in a week, but I've still been working at my job, which entails a lot of lifting and quick-paced walking.

My mom came back from Canada after two weeks of vacation last night, saw me, and said, "You've lost weight..."

I was staring at her like
I mean, I was feeling fat because I haven't worked out in so long. Then, I decided to try the scale and I found that I'm 155 lbs!!!!

I thought the scale might have been broken, so I tried another one. Same results!

Did I lose fat? Or muscle weight? I have no idea. If anything, I feel stronger...and my chest (I did a little work out this morning) is like a barrel. So...what did I miss?
Does blowing one's nose repeatedly = weight loss technique? :p

I normally loose about 10 pounds whenever I have the flu or a bad cold. I also tend to loose weight when I don't work off for awhile too.

I used to be ~220 lbs and now I am 160 lbs. That only took about a year to do.

EDIT 2: And yes, I worked out really hard and ate properly. I didn't go on some crazy diet.

I can guess why people lose weight when their sick, but what I'm worried about is whether or not I lost muscle weight. I don't feel physically weaker...

I weighed 255, then I had a Witch Dr. put a tape worm in my stomach, and now I'm down to 105!!!! Sometimes I bleed from my eyes a little bit, and my skin is becoming translucent, but for the most part I feel and look great!!!

Lance: Are you fat (sorry for the harsh word)?
If you consider yourself to be fat (or grossly overweight, or whatever terminology you want to use :p), running's the way to go, man. Running or swimming.
Run at least two miles every day, bro. And gradually increase the intensity.

You could also incorporate muscular exercises into your weekly work out program, too. Remember, muscle burns fat. Just because you weight lift doesn't mean that you won't lose fat. You will lose fat, and you'll also gain muscle.
    It's a win-win situation. ;)

It's also good to eat your daily meals while running. That way, every morsal you eat is being burned simultaneously. This is a spin on the eating on the toilet theory.

The answer is simple: you've expelled 15 pounds of phlegm from your head and lungs.

You should kick your work-outs up to 4 hour intervals, increase the intensity, and increase the times per week from 4 to 8. Also, only eat diet pills. If you do this for a year, I gurantee you the pounds will fall off!!!

i just went from about 205 to about 193 because i was sick. watch me gain it back in a week. i work out too, but not as much as i did. im starting to get actuall fat on my body.

i have been about 195 pounds for about a year and a half. i burned the fat and gained the muscle. then i stopped playing foot ball and started gaining in fat. not a good thing. im still working out but not nearly as much as i was

Don't worry about it. I had the flu last year and went from 97 lbs to 81 lbs. I gained most of it back. :)
