SWC Ideas for 2nd wedding speech (Star Wars Themed)

My daughter's getting married and Although it's not a full blown thing I may just be "forced" to say something. has anyone any pointers (just a word to give me an idea) with perhaps a slant towards the Star Wars theme. Even a corny joke or two may help.

Well LAJ_FET it's the other way around so I think i'll stay away from that! I would have thought though that there would be many in this community that have such experience. Hopefully something will turn up. Meanwhile I'll start drafting something just in case.

 

Random thought: Maybe there are some lines from this bit of Yoda dialogue in ESB that could be tweaked/reframed for a part of a little wedding speech (?)

"Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. ..."

Not suggesting you describe your daughter as "not ready" of course!...just that maybe a line or two could be tweaked to fit the situation of a father who has "a long time watched" his daughter and is commenting on the fact that a bride and groom must have "the deepest commitment," etc.

Really just thinking out loud, though, so maybe I'm way off base in terms of what you're looking for...

Not to put him on the spot or anything , but Ananta Chetan is one of the best around here (that I know of) in terms of finding ways to fit SW dialogue into real life situations...

In other words..."Help Omits, Ananta Chetan...you're his only hope!"

 

I know what I'd do,

take the opportunity to declare a new empire, "for a safe and secure...society! "

lifting my arms at the guests for full applause!.

 

Daughter Skywalker: [shocked] What am I doing...?!

Father Sidious: You're fulfilling your destiny, X. Become Y's wife and have a happy and fulfilling life.

Daughter Skywalker: I will do...whatever you suggest.

Father Sidious: Good!

Daughter Skywalker: Just give me your blessing to marry Y. I can't live without him.

Father Sidious: To have a successful marriage is a power only a few have achieved, but I'm sure if you work together...you can discover the secret.

Daughter Skywalker: I pledge and vow it with all of my heart.

Father Sidious: Good. Goood. ... The Love is strooong between you two. A powerful couple, you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth... Mr. & Mrs X.

Daughter Skywalker: Thank you Father!
