If Chewbacca didn't start strangling Lando, would they have saved Han?

I am just wondering, because I was watching ESB and i relized that after Chewie stopped strangling Lando and they all rusehd to get Han, Han was already gone.

Do you think they would have come close to getting Han back if Cheiwe didn't start strangling Lando?

 

No. Fett could have easily fended them off. If anything Lando, Chewie or Leia would have been killed.

 

If they made it there in time they probably would've been able to rescue Han. Though Fett and the Stormtroopers there might have been able to push them back.

 

Yeah, if you believe that Boba is only half as awesome as fanboys (and partly EU) make him out to be, he would have dealt with Leia, Chewie and Lando and gotten away with Solo.

If Jango can get rid of a Jedi, his son can get rid of a girl, a walking carpet and an admin.

I was just wondering that....it always pisses me off that they get pissy with Lando after he organizes a surprise on the troopers and frees chewbaca. if they just had kept cool they could have rescued Han.

twileik jedi, lets not get ahead of ourselves. He killed ONE mediocre Jedi. He caught him by surprise in the heat of battle, not a one on one. He got his butt handed to him in a one on one.

I think they may have made it. Lemme think a sec. Boba and the Imps would probably be in that big room that R2D2 used the smoke screen on. They would've rushed in, took out the Imps at least, and Probably get Boba. But Boba would take out one of them, and injure another. Realistically, Lando would die, Chewie get hurt, but it'd probably be more of R2D2 getting 'killed' so he could be repaired, and Lando getting hurt.

Despite fan and EU insistance, Boba Fett wasn't some superman. Chewie, Leia, and Lando probably had enough battle experience to handle a single flippin' bounty hunter. Boba could've taken out a few, or at least created a good enough diversion, if he had used his rocket however. Not like he'd care about collateral damage or anything.

 

Yaeb, I was thinking of how Jango got rid of Obi-Wan on a landing platform not very different to Boba's on Bespin. And by 'getting rid of him' I didn't necessarily mean 'kill'.

and as for the blind man with the stick... that's on a tiny skiff with attention focused on something more dangerous. A landing platform with his ship on it is probably a lot more to Boba's advantage.

You know, there should've been two stormtroopers with him too. They'd have given him backup.

Or rather, would have been used as cannon fodder and killed instantly while Fett used them as a distraction to shoot one of our heroes.

 

I always thought it was Chewies fault that Fett got away without any problems.

 

If Chewie hadn't strangled Lando they wouldn't have made it in time. Figure out in your mind how long Chewie had Lando is his grips (a minute or so). When they did get there Boba Fett was flying off. If they left right away they would have gotten when he was inside but their blasters wouldnt have made any real damage to his ship. If they did get there in time I think there would have only been Boba Fett and I dont think he could have fended off Chewie, Lando and Leia. Plus they would have had the element of surprise. It's very likely Boba Fett would have died without taking out any of them.

Re: Jango Fett taking out the Jedi in AOTC, that was so phony it was unbelievable. I don't know that Jedi's name but he was on the Jedi Council and it served no purpose to the overall story of the movie.

 

Coleman Trebor (dangit I'm a dork) was the Jedi he killed. He got the element of surprise and shot him off. He wasnt even that good of a Jedi, mediocre at best.

He didnt really get rid of Obi, he stalled, but he also didnt have to worry about cargo to load on to his ship either.

I thought when they showed up, they were loading Han onto the ship. Or was taht a scene shown while they were running? Cause I distinctly remember Boba ordering the troopers something when he was outside of his ship. I think it was as they ran up, so if the ywere a minute earlier, he would be in that white room with 2 stormies next to the landing platform.

Note- let's first agree where Boba would be at. Cause if he is on the platform, he might win, if in the room, less chance. Someone check the dvd and find out where he was when they ran up, cause I just returned mine to the store.

 

I can distincly remember that once Lando, Leia, and Chewie/C-3P0 started running, the next scene had Fett going: "Put Capt. Solo in the cargo hold." and then a moment later, Leia and the others burst out to where Fett was just taking off. So i guess if they were running out there just 5 minutes earlier, they would have saved Han.

I'm rewatching ESB, so i'll know when i see it.

There's no way they would of saved Han. Boba could of easily got on board Slave 1 and left without our heroes managing to do anything. Boba would of also got off a few shots before entering Slave 1 as well so one or two of our heroes would of been killed.

 

There was noway that Lando, Chewie, and Leia could have made it in time, even if Chewie didn't choke Lando. When they got to the ship, it was already in the air. Therefore, they would not make it in time.

Besides, they was noway that Cheiwe was not going to attack Lando. At that moment, Chewie thought that Lando, was partly responsible for the freezing of his best friend. Hey, I would attack him too. I attack anyone who messes with Han Solo. Even, though I do think Lando is an awesome character.

 

No, Chewie is an expert marksman, he could've hit him. Plus you got three blasters at once going, they could've saved him.

 

I think they would have saved Han. I always wondered about that. But Chewie needed to blow off some steam!! lol

 

So....has anyone actually timed how long Chewie was strangling Lando for and compared it to how long it is from the time that Leia walks onto the platform shooting at Slave I and it taking off??

I don't think that it would have mattered. I can't watch it now but it seems to be only about 20-30 seconds. With how quickly Fett took off when they arrived at the platform Solo must have already been stowed and Fett started pre-launching.
