If Luke and Leia are IDENTICAL twins, then why is Luke so much taller than Leia?

Luke looks to be 5'7-5'9 at best and Leia can't be over 5'1-5'2. Identical twins are 99% always the same height. hmmm another of George's glitches?

 

everyone knows the force makes you taller, either that or all the time he spent hanging upside down in the wapma lair stretched him out a bit

I would assume they are fraternal twins... do they ever say "indentical" ?

 

I agree with Radar. It was never said they we're identical.

 

Besides arn't most guys typically taller than females? And Radar is right with the scientific explanation.

 

I like the fact that Luke has a cleft chin, and Leia doesn't. I'm not really sure, but do either Anakin or Padmé have a cleft chin? If neither of them do, then it's genetically impossible for Luke to have one, and Lucas has made yet another nice, little glitch that could do with some fixing up.

But I'm not complaining. I still love the movies.

 

They are obviosuly those kind of twins that are born at the same time but are not identical...I forget what they are called...oh shucks...u r dumb anyway. A glitch..ya I'm sure it never says they were identical twins...just twins.

They can't be identical if they aren't the same gender. They MUST share 100% DNA to be identical Athough their finger/footprints are different.

Hayden does have a cleft chin. They're fairly common among people of Scandinavian descent.

They arent identical...kinda have to be the same sex to be identical...

 

Where in the movies was it indicated they were indentical? Obiwan never said identical, Yoda never said it, and Vader says "So you have a twin sister" When has it been indicated Luke and Leia are indentical?

Also, it is possible to have indentical twins that are boy and girl. It does happen. The odds are like 1 in a Million but it does happen. If you don't believe me go look it up.

 

Even if neither of the parents had a cleft chin that doesn't mean that Luke having one is messed up. Genes don't work like that, traits can suddenly pop up, skip over a generation and the like.

Oh, and Luke and Leia are obviously not identical twins. This argument is like saying "If Jawas are sand people that have been cut in half by Jabba the Hutt, then why do their eyes glow? And how can they walk? Lucas messed up!"

 

Who ever said they were identicle twins? They obviously arent as they are of different genders.

 

As has been said before, boy/girl twins can not be identical. Identical means identical DNA, including an XX vs and XY.

Also, identical twins can be different heights. This is most likely to hapen if they grow up in different environments (like they did) with different food and activity levels.

 

That's because they're NOT identical. Identical twins are always the same gender.

 

No their not always the same gender. There have been boy/girl identical twins. Go look it up. The information is out there. Like I said the odds of it happening are like a Million to One but it can happen.

 

Luke and Leia are not identical.They are just twins born at the same time.And it should be quite obvious just from looking at them that Luke looks just like Anakin and Leia looks very much like Padme.

 

DarthJohnkenobi, how can they be identical if their DNA is different? Also, have you ever heard of a little something called the "burden of proof"? Don't tell us to look up the information when you're the one making the claim. If you're claiming that identical twins can be different genders, the burden is upon you to supply us with your information. As it stands, I don't think it's possible. How can you identical if you have different privates?
