One of my teachers wants to know if there is a specific word for a star wars fan. Someone suggested "geek".

Warsies, I think... but, just as no self-respecting Bostonian calls the city "Beantown", I'd say Star Wars Geek. ;)

i think "Warsie" sounds cute, but i guess star wars fans would be more common. Its not as if Star Wars fans are the only form of geek or nerd (in whatever fashion) though

I'm glad SW fans have no label like Trekkie or Trekker. It shows that SW is above mere things like that.

Besides,if there was one,it would sound utterly lame, like the above examples.

I think that there is no way to express Star Wars fans in a single word or phrase, seeing as there are so many of us, all at different stages of "star wars obsession"...
    yeah...

Vongy, a certain nerd test proved me to be 26% nerd, so I'm that too. But I consider myself a geek... let's see here, have glasses (tho I wear contacts), honors math class, can help with homework, looks like a geek whenver the camera's not around (then I'm this hottie), math club, yup definitely a geek, even if SW doesn't contribute twoard that. SW geeks we are!

I have heard us called "Hammills" before.

But I think it is best said, that it's good we don't have a label...we're above all that petty stuff.

You think Star Trek fan, you think people in Star Fleet Uniforms or bad looking Klingon Foreheads saying "Live long and Prosper" while argueing if Picard is better than Kirk. (Don't get me wrong, I like Star Trek as well...even have a Star Fleet Officers Uniform tucked away in the cupboard).

It's good that Star Wars fans are such a mixed bunch of people from all areas of life with so many interests. I'm always amazed by the level of talent Star Wars fans have, when it comes to making fan films for example, we're the best.

So call me a Nerd, call me a Geek, in fact..call me whatever you like...I'm a Star Wars fan and I'm proud of it! :)

People who know the truth about everything and do everything and have a shirt that proves so and which makes them an @SS. Really, I think we should be called smarter people, because we know the truth on who would win in a battle. Didn't I have a thread like this like a year ago?

If star trek fans are called trekkies, what are star wars fans?

I'm not sure. See if any of these terms strike your fancy:

    Anti-Trekkies
    Lucasites
    Force Freaks
    Droid Junkies
    Warheads

These are kinda lame, but some of the better ones might get me banned from the forum if I posted them here.

I think it depends on how into it you are. Maybe you're a true Jedi fanatic, who tries to live by the Jedi code. Then, you probably label yourself Jedi.
If you're a Sith fan, then you will no doubt call yourself a Sith Lord, or just Sith.

I'm a general Star Wars fan who isn't really THAT fanatic about it. I love the movies because they are very well made movies with great characters, a fantastic story and awesome action sequences. I do spend a significant amount of time on these boards to try to figure out certain things about the saga. I do not devote my life to Star Wars, however. My life belongs to my own artistry.
Therefore, I don't believe I should be called Jedi or anything like that. Not Warrior, either, because that sounds like I would give my life to defend Star Wars, which I wouldn't.
Until someone comes up with a good equivalent of Trekker(which I think are those who aren't as fanatic as the Trekkies), I'm just a Star Wars fan.

Star Wars is six, two and one
