When the Rebels are all leaving Hoth Base in ESB most of them escape due to the Ion Cannon that is disabling the Imperial Star Destroyers right?Well after General Veers destroys the shield generators and the shield is down couldnt the Empire just destroy the Ion Cannons and then start capturing the remaining X-Wings and their Transports? or Veers could just have destroyed the Ion Cannon and then the Star Destroyers could easily capture all the rebel ships with their tractor beams after disabling them first.

So wouldnt it have been very easy just to make the captured Rebel crews tell the Empire where the Rebel Fleets rendevous point was located at?Just let Darth Vader ask them and use the dark side to extract the answers from them too, and then there is the information in the ships Navacomputers that would tell them where the rebels are supposed to be heading, logically the Empire would have discovered the Rebel Fleets location near the Rishi Maze at the end of ESB very quickly and easily if they had captured even one X-Wing and tortured the pilot and made him tell them and talk, they could then attack the Rebel Fleet there and destroy it with Star Destroyers or capture some smaller ships and find the biggest groups location, the one that had Admiral Ackbar and his Mon Calamari Star Cruisers near Sullest.

Even in the EU it says that many Rebel ships were captured while others were destroyed in the battle of Hoth, all it takes to get them to talk is a simple mind probe,or the old Bambo under the fingernails routine and that is very effective from what i have heard as well.

One would presume that the rendevous point was not a new base but a place to gather to relay a new set of coordinates just in case the empire got the location of the first rendevous point. It would take some time to get the information from a captured pilot, enabling the rebels to redeploy to another location.

Ughhh... it was an effort to figure out what in the world your point was. You must learn to cohere your thoughts better when posting here, Matthew78. [face_plain]

Well on your first point, the Alliance had espcaped by that time. On your second point, yes that is possible, but it's also quite possible, given that circumstance, that the Alliance had given orders to arrive at the rendevous point, then recieve new coordinates, just incase your above thoughts had become a problem.

The IMps know standard military procedure, and because of that they know that the Rebs will either be jumping to scattered locations and then randomly jumping to various other non-base locations to throw off the Imps, or they will be jumping for an indiscriminate amount of time until they are told where the rendevouzs base will be located at through some sort of hyperspace transmission or messenger relay system.
