I'm on my way back home from the south, and some idiot on my basketball team gets the bright idea to stop at Bojangles' for lunch. Bojangles' are virtually non-existent where I live, so never having tried their "famous chicken and biscuits," I agreed and decided to give it a whirl.

I've never tasted a greasier piece of lard in my life...not that I eat lard at all, but this thing was absolutely horrible. Not only was the grease dripping off the biscuit, but the entire meal was smooth and slippery, as if unable to hold texture.

Needless to say, I am now sick. My stomach has been upset for nine hours now and nothing seems to help it. This newfound sickness has resulted in several trips to the bathroom per hour and a great amount of discomfort.

I've a new appreciation for those who've had food poisoning or those with memories of disgusting meals. Had one lately...? Have a fond memory of an experience...? I'm sure Kobe Bryant isn't the only one who has suffered from this mess besides me...

...I think I'm due for another trip to the bathroom...

I've never heard of Bojangles as a food store, but i've heard of the dancer. Anyway, sorry about your food poisining. What did the owner of the store say to you? Actually, i had have had something similar to food poisining. About a year ago, i went into Subway and ordered a sub. After i took one bite i found out there was a chunk of hair in the bread. I'm lucky i didn't touch it. I was so mad.

Geez.. I frequent Bojangles a lot, considering one of them is right down the streets from me. They have some of the best food here, but I'll forewarn anyone who comes down here... If you go to a bad one, the food is so greasy that you'll get an upset stomach. Especially if you eat the chicken. They have the best french fries ever, as well as biscuits. You just have to watch out for each store.. trial and error is the only way to figure it out. Out of the 14 odd Bojangles in my area, I only eat at 2. Sorry about your bad experience.. and if you ever travel through Charlotte, NC, check out the Bojangles in Matthews, NC... right to the Southest edge of Charlotte. Best. Chicken. Ever.

Carosel's right about that. :D Depends on where you get it and who's doing the cooking that day. There's two Bojangles' where I live and I only go to one of them. :p

I've lived in NC four years now and have thus far managed to avoid Bojangles. (Chicken & biscuits is still just not my thing.) Some good it did me, though, because I got sick eating at Sweet Tomatoes, of all places.

Alright. Well, let's be honest... every restaurant chain has it's good and bad ones. Go figure... ya just gotta learn about the good ones and avoid the bad ones. Don't get me started on the Wendy's around here (I was sick for 4 days because of a chicken sandwich at one) or some of the Hardees... :p

Never ate at Bojangles when I lived in NC, but if it's like most of the stuff down south, I'm sure it's added a layer to the walls of your arteries.

That'd be bad, especially if you got sick from even the mention of a mango... Especially with the "...and a mango" craze a while back :p

Never heard of that chain before, but I'll be wary I guess ;)

I don't recall if I've ever had food poisoning. I have a pretty strong stomach.

Yeah, well they're not big animals. Did it taste like any other form of meat? And did it cause indigestion..?

I think "Don't Eat @ Hardees" is pretty much a town motto for everywhere down South. Bojangles isn't that bad--sometimes I like to stop and get a biscuit on the way home from work in the morning.

I got food poisoning a couple months ago and it was awful; it lasted almost a week! I have no idea where I got it, but within a span of five days, the spiciest things that I ate were a few Saltine crackers. The week before I got sick I had eaten a lot of apples and Caesar salads (both of which I love) and I now refuse to even touch them.

And about Southern food...I've lived in South Carolina and Tennessee...and you haven't tasted greasy food until you come down to New Orleans. You can hear your arteries hardening as you eat! [face_mischief]

Hey, I think Hardee's is perfectly fine...I've never seen a better place to eat breakfast on the go...good biscuits. I've never had lunch there, however.

Yuck... I feel the same way about Taco Bell. The only "Mexican" food to ever make me run through a crowded Barnes and Noble moaning and holding my bum.

Just thought you'd all appreciate that. :)
