As most of you know, I've been away for a few months now. Only a few intermittent posts here and there. And yes, I'm no longer a mod, but that was for the best. I just couldn't really dedicate a worthy amount of time to the Jedi Council, and I had a lot of outside responsibilities in the Real World(tm).

Anyway, I just wanted to try and stick a foot in here and say that it's kind of interesting and fun, in a way, being away from Star Wars for awhile. In early 1998, as well as late 1999, I burned out on Star Wars. Again, this happened late in 2002. It's usually after each movie ( or the Special Editions ). The preceeding years are builtup to a feverish pitch with anticipation for the new movies, and is helped along by a diluge of new comics, novels and videogames. They're wonderful ways to pass the time between movies. ( Heh, sorry Purists. )

But a time comes when change is needed...when too much time spent focusing on one thing can become a bit tiresome. In going away, and taking a break from your passion, you know you'll just go back to it with that much more love and amazement when the time comes to return.

So, I've been delving into other stories ( Dune, LotR ) and seeing what they have to offer. Also, in being away from the JC, it sure helps getting a perspective on some of the silly arguments that arise here. :/

Back to what I was going to say...

It's fun to come across Star Wars comics, such as Empire and Republic, and be completely unspoiled as to the contents within. Tatooine Ghost as well. I'll be reading a little SW fiction here and there this year, but when I go back to it more next year, and into 2005 for Episode III ( remember, I'm still having a black-out on that, and will leave here in June ), I'll have no idea as to what to expect. The Clone Wars stories will be excellent, I'm sure.

So, uh, yeah. :) And wow...Jedi Academy? It'll be Dark Forces IV in my book. ;)

Without the ability to play as kyle katarn, it won't be DFIV in my book, ;).

Sturm, ya big jerk, how the hell are you? We really miss your fascist hand, I mean, uh, reasonable moderating hand around here.

This place just hasn't been the same without you.

Excuse me? I've never had delusions of grandeur!!! And Sturm is right, sometimes you just need to take a break from this insane place. But I tend to only leave for a few weeks or so....but Sturm deserted us! :_| .....So what Dune books have you read? :)

Glad to see you're outta the carbon-freeze, there, Sturm.

You are allowed back out in public again now, aren't you?

(I know there was that was that constant flow of students and curiosity-seekers who paid $3.00 a head to come into your gaol to stare and gawk. ;))

Good to hear from ya, though, man!!

It's funny - I was about to append my sig with a 'Sturm Antilles: Missing in Action' line and he shows up again. Odd that.

I've tried to leave this place numerous times, but It's got me by the throat and doubt I'll ever be able to leave.

Sturm: You know, it is possible to remain completely unspoiled and still post a lot... I'm a good example of that.

PAd: [face_laugh] The funny thing is, I just watched Gladiator yesterday.
