Dunno if you guys caught the announcement on the official site yet, but ATOC is getting the IMAX treatment later this year. Hopefully it'll come here so we can all get to that together. It should make the *ahem* lengthy wait until the DVD hits that much more bearable.

Hmmm... I just got to thinking. This is due November 1st - the same day the Spider-Man DVD is going to be released. Coincidence? Will Peter and Anakin ever play nice?

Wow! I had heard last week that AotC wasn't getting the IMAX treatment, but this news from the official site with today's date on it obviously blows that out of the water!
Sounds to me like another excuse (as if we really needed one) to go see AotC at the theaters, albeit IMAX!

I'll try to get ahold of the IMAX here in Tulsa and see if they have it scheduled or not.

Well i had heard it was, but it kinda lost steam when the official site stopped posting new info. Although didn't we hear that it would be very unlikely we would get it her to to revenue that Lucas wants from the theaters for it?

someone in the TFF called our local theater and ask, or am i delusional again?

I hope not. According to www.imax.com there are only 220 IMAX theaters worldwide. If Lucasfilm is going through the IMAX DMR process, it stands to reason they'd push to get it to every one of these theaters. Then again, I've been known to make mistakes... From time to time... Oh dear, oh dear.

HA! I'm just kidding, I'm infallible as you all already know.

Seriously, if there are no current plans to release it here, we should organize some kind of protest or mass rioting in the streets.

Enough with the pickles and peanut butter already! Weirdo!

Oh, if it doens't come here, I will be HOT!!!! Give me names, give me numbers, I will call, e mail and write to every fricken loser CEO, president of whatever crappy company that denied us our happiness!!! I will take out full page ads letting everyone know why we didn't get it and what loser is to blame. Flyers, billboards (okay Jake, I might need your help with that one. You might have to put in a good word with some of the cops you work with. Getting busted for destruction of property, vandalism and trespassing could be one heck of a wrap sheet! :) ) picket signs...WHATEVER! I'll do it. When the new addition of the Webster dictionary comes out, next to the word militant, will be my pic.

Or, I will just brake down and cry.

Hehehe, stand outside the theater in ST armor, vader, Jedi, Sith and all our costume forbidding anyone from getting in the theater or buying tickets, and then tell them to go to AMC or Promanade or Dickensen hehehe

I'm thinking a TulsaFanForce/JediOKC thing would be great to go along with the IMAX release. We should talk to Cinemark about maybe reserving the theatre, and if they don't allow it the Nerd Pandemonmium will run wild. Pocket protectors will be thrown and lightsabers will be put in uncomfortable places ;)

I called the Tulsa IMAX, and of course, they had no clue whatsoever. But I'm sure that if I had asked them if they served popcorn they would have told me the same thing. It boggles my mind as to how the entertainment industry allows such mindless dolts to showcase thier wares.

I will post more info as it comes.

    I think you mean:

No, I meant "when" it comes. Sooner or later they'll figure out they do serve popcorn and they will call me to let me know. At which time, I will share it with you.

    :D

I can understand the kid that cards me for R movies not knowing but it's amazing when the manager of the theater has no idea either. You'd think they'd keep up with this stuff as, well, it's kinda their job.

I noticed on the cinemark's website that you can purchase group tickets, and request information about a theatre rental. Does anyone know how many people an IMAX theatre holds?

I've only been there once, for Minority Report. I didn't count, but it was quite a lot. Far more than we and JediOKC and our families could fill. At least 300.

I doubt we'll get it all, but maybe would could get a reserved block of seats near the sweet-spot.

Jake, make sure you find out about butter for that popcorn. We'll be better off asking now so we don't have to wait on 2 responses.

Geez, it's just multiplication. Rows * Seats. How difficult is that? Oh, some rows have fewer seats you say? Well, crap, that throws a big wrench in my scheme. Can't use Law of Averages or an estimate or, God forbid, actually walk into the room and count... If I was so incompetent at my job, my family would starve. I have no patience for stupidity. I'm gonna load up a van and go beat these people, who's with me?

I'm pretty sure it only seats about 100 people. Maybe 150.

I know for a fact that when I bought my ticket I used the ABO there in the lobby and it actually tells you how many seats are available (another counting tool they could use!) and it showed 271 left then... So I know it's around 300.

You wanna fight about it? THAT'S IT!! After school, by the bike racks, under the flag pole, in between the kindergarden rooms, across from the cafateria and next to the restrooms!!!!!

Anyway, i guess it just looks smaller then it is. *shrug*

Well, if there is going to be pickles and pb anywhere, I'm not doing a damn thing. :D

The IMAX in KCMO held about 600 seats. It was very large and always packed. I would guess ours is at least half that. Just my guess. My bike doesn't have a bananna seat or flag, does that mean I am out of the fun of beating up Brent? :D
