Imperial Officer's Tunic Pattern

Perhaps this is a well-worn discussion, but anyway...

Am looking for a good pattern for an Imperial Officer's Tunic (to be made in black and/or gray). Many online soures talk about modifying an existing Civil War (?) pattern, but is this necessarily the easiest way to go?

Can I dare to say I'd even be willing to purchase said pattern?
