Inside Man

Looked back around 15 pages and couldn't find a thread on this movie, so decided to make one.

"Inside Man," being released on March 24th. Directed by Spike Lee and written by newcomer Russell Gewirtz (this is his first movie). Starring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, and Jodie Foster, with Willem Dafoe and Chiwetel Ejiofor in supporting roles.

The plot is that Clive Owen is a bank robber who has taken a large number of people hostage inside a NYC bank, demanding a plane ride out or else he starts killing the hostages. Denzel is the police negotiator whose suspicions that the situation is not what it seems grows after Jodie Foster's government agent shows up.

It's been a while since I've seen a Spike Lee movie; I think the last was when I went to see 25th Hour in theaters. But he's good by me, the trailer looks great, and he's got a great cast lined up.

 

Looks kind of interesting, but nothing that I'll see in theatres.

 

I have the same feeling about Spike Lee as I do about Woody Allen: he's past his 'Best By' date.

 

On the bright side from the trailer it doesn't look like the main white guy is incompetant.

And this sounds like a Gay Porn movie title.

 

This looks very intersting to me. I will probably be seeing this in theaters.

I'm interested, but only enough to go see it in the cheap theater. Unless I hear great things about it before it gets there, of course.

Good movie.
Still not sure who they mean by "inside man" unless they're talking about Arthur Case's past. Was that the Rabbi in the car at the end? If so, they didn't play an "inside man" angle with him at all.

I think it was because Clive Owen was inside the bank the whole time.

 

This movie owns!

Be prepared for about 92 F bombs though.

The videogame sequence is hilarious!

I don't know how i missed that! I was talking with my compatriot about the meaning of the title. We figured it should have been Inside Men because it seemed like EVERYONE wound up being on the inside, somehow.

However, i think you totally nailed it with your explanation.
