Was looking at it and realized something:

And if you fold out the bottom arm perpendicular to the top one, you get the bottom wing. Even the two smaller engines on the starboard side are from a binde clip, there are two round parts that hold the arms in place.

    I love stuff like this.

Funny you should make a connection like that- when I was in pre production on a fanfilm of mine (which, alas, never was made) about 10 years ago, I had designed an enemy starfighter inspired by those kind of clips too. :D

But, I think in this case, we can safely say the Twilight is inspired by the B-Wing- they just removed the gyro cockpit, made it larger and turned the cent engine section into the new cockpit/cargo bay,

Well, from what I understand, Grievous' head was inspired by a spray bottle nozzle so anything's possible.

according to wookiepedia, the design of the firefighting ship is in the Making of RotS book, its red and is more curved than the twilight is.

Funny that they'd use a B-Wing-inspired design for a fireship, when B-Wings were used as fireships in the comics during the period of time immediately post-Endor.

For a moment I thought this would be a thread about Stephanie Meyer's Twilight and how Grievous was Edward Cullen and Padme was Bella.

One of the early designs for Grievous was based on a spray nozzle. I wouldn't be surprised. The assymetrical shape is charming (and handy for docking sideways).

Also, the front of the cabin, most notably the slanted face of the cabin bears a slight resemblance to the old Lambda shuttles, looks like they'll lengthen out over the next 30 years.

This is what Wookiepedia says about the Twilight, "There is an older connection the Twilight holds that dates back all the way to 1977, to the original A New Hope. As a beat up old spice freighter, the Twilight is the kernel of truth to Uncle Owen's lie about Anakin. Luke Skywalker's father was indeed a navigator on a spice freighter, from a certain point of view." That made me grin, I love that ship.

It does look like a paper clip, kinda.

It also kinda reminds me of the machine gun from COD5.

Funny that you'd make the connection though.

If they don't suck blood or combust in sun, they're not vampires.

Anyway, ever notice how Bossk's HOUNDS TOOTH looks like a Stapler?
