I'm sure when we watch Star Wars at home, most of us have a favorite spot to press pause somewhere in the middle to go and get something to drink or just renew our attention spans.

So I was thinking... what if Star Wars had intermissions? If you were in charge, where would you put an intermission?

For Episode I, I'd probably put one right after the podrace, but before Qui-Gon's talk with Watto.
For Episode II, I'd probably put one after Obi-Wan's rumble with Jango, or after he lands on Geonosis.
For Episode III, definatley right before Padme's Ruminations.

For ANH, there's nowhere in the middle that would be a good spot. Probably after Tarkin's line "terminate her, immediatley!", right before the Falcon comes out of hyperspace.
For ESB, right before the start of the scene where Luke tries to levitate his fighter out of the swamp but fails.
For ROTJ, probably right after Threepio's line "...never knew I had it in me" and before he tells the Ewok's their story.

So, where would you put yours?

I miss intermissions, even though we never got up because we didn't want to loose our seats. I think the last movie I saw in a theater with an intermission was either Scarface or Chariots of Fire. Good places for Intermissions would be:

TPM - Between Qui-Gon taking Anakin's blood and Darth Maul landing.
AOTC - Obi-Wan and the Kaminoans watch the Clones marching.
ROTS - Anakin tells Mace about Sidious' true identity.
ANH - Right after the escape from the trash compactor.
TESB - Luke sees his face in Vader's mask.
ROTJ - Vader sends Luke to see the Emperor, and gazes out over the forest in contemplation.

I think the Star Wars movies are not long enough for intermission. With RoTS being the longest at two and a half hours, that isn't bad. Don't go after drinking lots of alcohol or coffee and you should be able to make it through. ;) Now something like Return of the King...that probably could have used an intermission....

Having a pretty short attention span, I tend to space each film out over a day. Sometimes two. :p

I'm a caffeine addict, so I usually drink a 44oz+ soda within the first 30 minutes of a movie. In all the premieres, intermissions would have been a great help to me.

ANH: After the Falcon escapes the Death Star.
    ESB: After Luke leaves Dagobah.
ROTJ: After Luke's final conversation with Blue Obi-Wan.
TPM: Before or after the Podrace.
AOTC: After Anakin and Padmé leave Tatooine.
ROTS: After Obi-Wan leaves for Utapau.

Of course, in all of these instances, my bladder would still suffer. But hey, it was worth it.

When the TV show comes out, I'm keeping a bucket in the living room.
