In a relationship? What do you guys think....especially those of you who are married or in relationships and such. How old is too old?

Obviously it varies greatly on the individuals in question, but what would you say, in general?

I'd say I don't generalize on things like this. Esp. after falling in love with a 14 year old girl.

I think what matters most is the age of the younger person, not the older one. If the younger person is over 18 and emotionally mature, that helps a lot.

I would say it depends on the maturity of the individuals. I can't make a general judgement, because every case is so different.

I think that if the girl is 18 and the boy is 25, their maturity is probably close to equal, therefore okay. Vice Versa, I'm not so sure.

I don't think it's much of an age difference regardless, though, as pointed out above, it naturally depends on the context. Some 18 year olds are highly immature, while others act more like adults in their 20s - and similarly, there are some really childish 20 year olds around.

    Do whatever feels right.

I hate asking such a general question. Im 18, boy in question is 25. I get alot of comments along the lines of, "what kind of 25 year old hangs out with 18 year olds? What a loser."
However, many married couples I have seen have large age differences, more than 6 years.

I know a couple who got married when she was 19 and he was 27. They seem pretty happy together now.

Han and Leia had an 11-year age difference. :-B

If the two of you are happy together, it's a non-issue.

I see no problem with 18 and 25, none at all. Now, if the 18-year-old still lives at home and is a high school senior, it could get temporarily messy, but other than that, I say all systems go (or at least not halted for the reason of age.)

I don't think it's how many days you've lived that matters, but what those days have turned you into. A person of 18 could be tested with a situation and handle it quite well, and a person of twice that age can face the same situation and totally screw it up. A relationship between people of vast age difference should be entered into the same as any other....with eyes wide open.

Age difference is nothing if you just keep in mind, it's not forever, let's just se how it goes.

Age=bull, it's all in the maturity of the individuals like people before me have said.

In general, the older both individuals are, the greater an age gap can exist between them, because they're boht still likely to be fully matured. However, the 18-25 is pushing the lower limits of maturity, so most people consider having a much narrower age range in the relationship safer.

I know of a 23 year old guy who's dating a 52 year old woman. This should prove interesting, to say the least. [face_laugh]

If you're 18, you can date anyone you like. I don't see anything mentally twisted or morally wrong about an 18-year-old dating a 25-year-old, if that's what you're asking.

It's a little different if you're 18, still in high school, and living at home with Mom and Dad, though . . . that's an awkward situation in which you're technically an adult, but the people paying the bills call the shots. Still, failing a situation where the 18-year-old still lives with parents who hate the 25-year-old, I don't see any problems.

not too much of an age difference.

Hell, if I'm still single and 50, I wouldn't have any problem dating an 18 year old.

EDIT: actually, it wouldn't really matter if I were single or not.
