Is Ian McDiarmid gay?

I've heard that Ian McDiarmid is gay, though I can't seem to find any information that confirms or denies it. The man is just about my favorite actor, even outside his role as Palpatine, and it won't stop biting at my curiosity... especially since it's so hard to find any information on the topic!

Does anyone happen to know anything on the subject, or perhaps have a link to some info?

 

Actually I've heard this rumour myself, and there is no source of information surrounding his sexual preference,

however I will say that IMHO no that he isn't, I think his natural campness is because he is a theatrical person and just a very nice guy.

and without doubt a true gentleman.

it will be interesting if this thread gets locked though to be honest, since I know it's a question that is wondered by a lot of people, yet no one ever dares to bring the subject up.

 

I should hope that this thread wouldn't get locked for what was intended as a relatively innocuous question. It's just discussion about an actor from the movies. And really, it's a rumor I've heard a number of times before, so I can't be the only one who's curious about it. Furthermore, aside from the immature/ignorant people who think there is somehow a problem with homosexuality, I don't understand why people would hesitate to bring up the subject.

Actually, one of the reasons I'm wondering is because of a British series called City of Vice, where McDiarmid plays the main character. There's an entire episode that focuses on the persecution of homosexuals, and I think that it would be interesting to ponder McDiarmid's feelings on that particular story if he is, in fact, gay.
