There was a white (well, whiteish) girl at Arby'*** yesterday and her friends kept calling her Shaniqua. I found it offensive that a name commonly associated with my culture was applied to some trashy white girl. I'm looking to start a well balanced and informed discussion on the issue. **I've never been to Arby's, I swear.
Jamal is an Arab name and Muslims of all colors use it. My ex had a good friend who was a ginger named Jamal. Also, no Shaniqua ever
Just printed the OP and taped it to the wall of my cubicle. At least three people have looked at it and nodded in approval. And my boss rubbed his chin and said "that's insightful"!
I find this offensive. I used to be called Shaniqua in high school. At least some of us can be open minded :/
So i was just talking to my girlfriend on the phone and I casually dropped "well, I've never been to Arby's, I swear". She started purring and yelled me to go buy rubbers. This thread is a Canadian miracle!
I don't know who you are or why you hate me, but stop. My internet Star Wars message board persona is at risk here.
I just meant that we already have an English version of Jesus' name that we use for everyone else but him with that Aramaic/Hebrew name, and that name is Shaniqua.
So I read last night that Cameron is old Gaelic for "crooked nose" and began as a family name. I kid you not.
