Is it possible to run Xwing Alliance on a Vista 64 bit system?

    The trick is getting the game installed, and, for that, you'll need the unofficial MSI installer package found on http://www.markusegger.at

    The last couple of posts in the "official" XWA thread also point to a couple of graphics-related fixes, including a hack for widescreen resolutions.

    One other thing I forgot to mention: you should install DirectX 9.0c even though Vista has DirectX 10. The DLL files in the 2 versions are different, so installing DirectX 9.0c will not affect your DirectX 10 games.

    Vista already has DirectX 9, it is not necessary to install it.
