Is Luke Skywalker still flying around in his old X-Wing?

I still havent read the whole New Jedi Order books but I was just wondering if Luke was and still is flying around with his old X-Wing ship. I think it would be time for him to get his own personal ship like Han has the Millenium Falcon

 

Off hand, he lost one at Bespin, had AA-589 for a long time, Was given a B-Wing and destroyed it cause he didn't like it, Had a T-65D loaner whuich he blew up, and I think lost -589 on Nirauan. Then he had an XJ, a few XJ-3s, and pretty much all the variants past that.

 

Looks like Luke goes through ships like Han goes through kids.

 

you guys sure Luke got a new X-Wing after he left his on Bespin? I thought he got it back by sneaking back in Bespin to get it back since in the older books like Truce at Bakura, Heir to the Empire Trilogy and Courtship of Princess Leia do state that he uses his old X-Wing and even in New Rebellion.

I just havent had the time or money to go buy the latter books like for the New Jedi Order books.

Doesn't he have an E-wing in the BFC? And an R7 unit to replace R2?

You could always go to the library and get the books. They usually have most of the Star Wars books there. Well, I know my libraries have them.

 

I was under the impression that most of the X-Wings he flew were either property of the Rebellion/NR or the Jedi Order, not Luke's own private property. For sure that's what it looks like by LOTF, where Jedi Order X-Wings seem to be free to use for anyone in the order.

 

No, he lost that years ago. On Nirauan, I think.

 

I guess he does have his own ship: the Jade Sabre which he built for Mara. I won't reveal anymore lest i spoil it for you.

He is also now flying a "stealth X" sort of like a jedi starfighter for the new era. It's black and is virtually invisible to the enemy for the most part.

 

In Legacy of the Force, StealthX was mentioned the most.

 

Yeah, these days he seems to just pick the latest model of X-wing in Jedi use.

 

No different to a car, right? You prefer StealthE, for E-wing?

 

Yep, he flies a Stealth-X now, unless he decides to fly around in the Jade Shadow.

 

Jedi Stealth-X with force bombs = Pure Win.

 

He's lost piles of them throughout the Classic Star Wars strips and Marvel comics too.

 

Let us not forget that Luke's X-Wing in ESB couldn't have been the one from the Battle of Yavin because he crashed that one on Mimban in SotME.

It's odd, though, that he keeps painting is X-wings up to look like Red 5...

IIRC, Leia was the one that crashed a Y-Wing, and Luke just flew in and landed his X-Wing.

I seem to recall one of the Bantam books (New Rebellion, maybe??) mentioning that Luke had been using the same X-wing with the same R2 unit (of course) long enough that they have an exceptional fast response time and other R2 units won't work well with it... or something like that. But by the time of the NJO I'd imagine that he uses whatever the newest model is, ie. XJ, StealthX, or whatever. No sense flying an inferior craft in combat. Maybe he could even take the computer system from his old X-wing and install it in newer models so whatever X-wing he flies will continue to work particularly well with R2.

 

Yup, that was TNR. In fact, there it was stated that Luke had deliberately avoided upgrades, and he was even pretty steamed up when the X-wing went in for an upgrade against his wishes. My suspicion is that the X-wing he's flying at the beginning of the NJO was still the old one, but he shifted after the war to the StealthX simply because of its differing uses. I'd hope he still has that X-wing, though...
