Ok, so last Friday, in the episode Jedi Crash, we had a Quinlan Vos reference. This basically comprised of Aayla talking about him as her Master. Is it a possibility that we will see her Master in the future? For those of you familiar with Quinlan Vos from the Republic series, he did some pretty bad stuff when he was deep undercover. So, will the Cartoon Network series portray Quinlan as we've seen him, as a Republic double agent working for Dooku, or will they only show him as a general, which was only mostly true near the end of the war, to my understanding?

I think it's almost a given that we will eventually see Quinlan in the series. They had already planned on using him in Bombad Jedi, and he was only cut due to budgetary reasons, not creative ones.

That said, I don't think we'll quite get the Quinlan we saw in the comics. I fear he might be turned into just another Jedi general, which is a pity. I just don't see this show exploring his fall to the Dark Side and double agent nature. Hopefully they will still allow for the existance of these elements in the comics, but I think we will be supposed to believe the Quinlan we get is either pre- or post-double agent.

I seriously hope we see Quinlan Vos at some point in the CW, and rather than showing him as a general it would be cool if he was still undercover.

Haven't read much about Quinlan Vos yet. So, I really don't know much about this particular Jedi. But when I do, I will want to see him in action.

somewhat off topic but could anybody recommend some good quinlan vos reading material? i never got into the comics but vos interest me a lot. i really do think we're going to see him in this series, i doubt they would reference him if he wasn't going to appear. not sure how dark they would make him. there have been some dark moments in this series but i don't know dark they want to take it.

From what Dave and Henry said it sounds as if he's going to appear sooner or later, but how and when, harder to answer that is.

Quinlan's most popular story arc is in the previous Clone Wars comics series collections (mostly made up of the Republic ongoing series and Jedi one-shots), but he does have some interesting earlier stories that setup some of his Clone Wars actions.

    Quin's main appearances would be:

-Twilight (this was his character's primary introduction)
-Darkness (sequel to Twilight, primary introduction of Aayla)
-The Stark Hyperspace War (it's frame story is set immediately after Darkness, but most of the story is a flashback focusing on Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and a young Quinlan- not essential, but it does have some good moments and certainly makes a particular line in TPM really funny after it gives you a new spin on things)
-Rite of Passage (focuses on Quin and Aayla with her earning her knighthood)

-Clone Wars Vol 1: The Defense of Kamino (Quin appears in the first part of this collection, and sets up his undercover plotline)
-Clone Wars Vol 4: Light and Dark (all Quin & Aayla-focused, and is very important to his storyline, an excellent read too)
-Clone Wars Vol 6: On the Fields of Battle (the second half of this collection features Quin and Obi-Wan)
-Clone Wars Vol 8: The Last Siege, The Final Truth (the conclusion to his Clone Wars story arc, set just before ROTS)
-Clone Wars Vol 9: Endgame (the first half of this collection wraps up Quinlan's storyline, as it's set on Kashyyk when Order 66 takes place; which can also be glimpsed briefly during the ROTS comic adaptation)

He pops up briefly in a couple other places (one story at the end Vol 2: Victories & Sacrifices, for example) but nothing vital to his story arc.

The more I read about him, the more interesting and complicated his life seems. So, I think he'd be a great character to explore in the series.

I'd actually say the contrary. The more complicated he is, the harder he will be to fit into 22 minutes. That said, I wouldn't mind him appearing, I just think a handful of people would be disappointed.

He could always just pop in and out.

    Can't always please everybody. :p

I was going to make a spiel about timeline placements, but the episodes aren't shown in chronological order so it hardly matters. :p

In short; LFL best not mess up him!

French accent for Quin? What do we think?

    He could pass for gallic.

Aayla had to pick it up from somewhere.

I took Aayla's accent as Middle Eastern originally. Then I started thinking maybe Italian...but not French.

I seem to remember hints that Vos might show up sometime in the Live Action show. I know it's supposed to be primarily centered around Fett, but still....

Well, technically, every does. Even those who "speak American."

Plus, its a tradition of Star Wars. Think of all of the languages that were used (and created!) by Ben Burtt to make up the soundtrack of the OT.

well...apparently, he's on Hasbro's list for an action figure, according to rebelscum's rumor list

and if he's getting an animated action figure-he must have a scheduled appearance coming up

Filoni has also said that he thinks that the "Jedi going to the Dark Side and back" thing is overdone in the EU, so I would imagine that if Vos appears, it would be outside that arc. I agree... I don't think you should have to know your EU inside out to enjoy the show.

I really only know the outline of his character arc (which sounds cool enough) and what he looks like, and I'm not that big on his design... it's a little too comic-y on the superhero tip for my tastes. But the same was true of Aayla, and I like her fine now. Vos made it into the ROTS dialogue, so I say bring him on.

Well, Filoni's right. The EU is redemption-crazy.

I wouldn't say a half-dozen over almost 80 years is going crazy- and there is the character aspect of "Luke the Redeemer"- of course he's gonna try to turn people back- if you can turn Vader, that's gotta boost your confidence in future attempts ;)

Quinlan, Kam, Zekk & Kyp are the only major ones I can think of (and Ulic, if you want to stretch back thousands of years). There might be 2 or 3 other very minor examples from Marvel or short story sources, though.

It should be simple enough to introduce a Jedi being undercover/double agent without having to go too deeply into his story as to require knowledge from the comics.

Right. Even a flashback from Aalya might be nice; actually, I thought that was where the last episode was heading when she started talking about her old Master.

That would do the trick for me, yes. But I'd be a bit worried about some stray inconsistent detail of it upsetting the very Vos fans who really want to see him. My preference would be not to see another "dark" Jedi in the show... Ventress strains the Rule of Two far enough, and Vos has the whole Bos Pitie thing to do.

I'm just gonna have to read these comics, I guess. John Ostrander, right? I used to read Grimjack occasionally... many, many years ago...

Yeah, pretty much every major Quin comic was written by John and drawn by Jan, though some of the non-Quin stories found in some of the volumes alongside Quin are done by others.
