I have often stated that the most horrifying commercials on television are the advertisements for Lunesta.

In this commercial, a very large glowing green moth silently flies into a persons bedroom, hovers menacingly about their face, the person "goes to sleep", and the moth moves on to the next target.

It has now come to pass that the thought has been realized within my brain that the moth is murdering the people in the commercial, and perhaps converting them into some sort of zombie creature to be a minion of Lunesta.

It is obvious to all with truth seeing skills that this moth does not bring peaceful slumber. What would be more frightening than this moth? If I was having trouble sleeping, and all of the sudden a huge glowing green bug flew into my room this would horrify me and I would flee, it would not help me go to sleep.

In this thread discuss the probability of the lunesta moth being a death moth.

Sith Lord Gunray I thought this sounded familiar, but I don't think I accused the moth of being a death moth before, and I just saw the commercial so I couldn't help posting this! I think before I just accused the moth of being scary.

Yeah, why should such poor CGI work go mainstream?

To be honest I always expect that commercial to be some sort of erectile disfunction one. I'm not sure why.

I can tell you with certainty that the moth in the commercial is not a "death moth", though its actions do typically lead to the death of its hosts.

    Allow me to explain:

Essentially, the impregnated female of this particular species of moth visits sleeping humans in the late evening and, at the opportune moment, shoots a concentrated packet of eggs directly into their nostrils. The force of this ejection is so powerful, it travels all the way into the cranial cavity and nestles against the frontal lobe.

There the eggs lie for a month or so before finally hatching larvae. The larval and pupal stages are quite brief, lasting only a week combined.

At the end of the pupal stage, the host often feels a kind of "fluttery, light-headed" feeling. Immediately subsequent to this feeling, the host's head explodes with great force, and thousands of moths disperse from the area once defined by it. This can often be a disturbing sight.

So you see, this company is actually quite a bit more subversive than you originally thought.

Glad to see that I'm not alone in my thoughts. By this point, unless it's a commercial for Advil or Tylenol, I just assume it's for erectile disfunction.
