ISB Uniforms

Uniforms of the Imperial Security Bureau are too white.

The empire will spend millions of excess credits every year scrubbing out those stains.

But their mistake which cannot be forgiven is.

Authors of new star wars content who have been proven many times to never have read or watched original star wars source material.

Apparently forgot.

That only Grand Admirals and Thrawn are allowed to wear white uniforms in the Empire.

Only Grand Admirals wear white uniforms.

Am I right.

 

ISB have always worn white uniforms. Officers like Yularen have the white dress uniforms and Field Agents have special gunmetal grey armor, as displayed in Battlefront II and Rebels.

 

Stormtroopers, Scout Troopers, Snow Troopers.
All dressed in white.
Right?

Yes, pretty much, ISB is traditionally white. Even Intelligence agents (the rival organization of the ISB) were sometimes depicted as wearing white uniforms in legends:



And so were the officers of the Coalition for Progress, in canon:

 

The 1st image appears to be from a comic book of Ysanne Isard 1st introduced in novels by Michael Stackpole.

It and clone wars could be new enough for neither to be considered a good source for ISB uniforms being white.

If you were walking down the street in the star wars universe and saw a Grand Admiral walking side by side with an ISB agent and both wore white uniforms.

How would you know the difference in their rank with the only insignia visible being the typical grid of red and blue squares with no distinguishing features.

In the book series by Timothy Zahn the white uniform instantly depicts Thrawn's rank as admiral rather than ISB agent. Intelligence agents wearing white seems like a new thing that people who came up with it, haven't put much thought into.

 

Newer than Thrawn, apparently, but it seems to date back to the 90s.
