It took me way to many years of my life to realize that Kurt Cobain was Jimi Hendrix reincarnated

The wild performances and the ****ed if I know what the hell he means lyrics should have been enough, but I finally noticed that Kurt was also a leftie, and he played mostly a Fender Strat, strung upside down for a mother****ing genius, just like Hendrix.

Poke my eyes out, because i may as well be blind.

oh, and in this thread we discuss lefties and/or ambidextrous people.

Ah, the 90s and Cobain. Two things I sorely miss. And I would love to be bi-handed.

Kurt would probably be the first to agree with you, but he hated himself and thought he was dreadfully untalented, so that makes his opinion on comparison about as valid as yours.

Just because Hendrix did it first, doesn't necessarily make him better. For one, it was two different musicians in two drastically different generational time frames.

Cobain meant every bit as much to his fans as Hendrix does to his, and his influence has extended to new generations, just like Hendrix has. I say comparing the two is completely appropriate.

That is a flawed statement Judi.

Good Charlotte's fans love them as much as Cobain and Hendrix's.
Doesn't make those Maddon morons any good.

In terms of guitar playing, Cobain is like a **** version of Hendrix.

    Be nicer.

I wasn't aware that either of them played strung upside down.

They played the normal way... It's just Hendrix played a right-handed strat strung left handed. But he still played with the strings the standard way. Not sure if that's what you meant.

They both came from Washington State, played lefty, and changed the music scene for there respective generations while also shaping the future. The comparisons are fair.

When Kurt died, music's overall integrity went with it for a long time. We are only now starting to see some recovery with bands like the Arcade Fire, and the Meat Puppets are alive and kicking, but it still is a ways away from what it should be.

I might give Kurt the edge in impact because he was the grunge "king."(as much as he would hate to hear that) Hendrix was a mastermind, but his music was also helped along by people like Syd Barrett, who is grossly underrated, I feel, for his impact on music.

It makes me proud to hold my lefty strat.

Oh yeah, BTW, Kurt was more inclined to the Fender Mustang, not the Strat.
