This cryptic dialogue from supreme leader Snoke may be a clue for Kylo Ren's character moving forward. It is possible that Kylo's "training" may actually consist of a brutal punishment for him because Snoke holds him accountable for the destruction of Starkiller base and the failure to locate Luke Skywalker. This version of a Sith type trial could leave Kylo Ren severly injured, but would allow him to take the next step toward becoming more like Darth Vader. In episode 8 Kylo Ren will HAVE to wear a mask and Vader type armour to survive the next time around.

I have an idea. It involves Ren having visions of the past. Of happier times. It would be similar to Luke in the cave but Snoke would encourage Ren to destroy what he see's. He ends the vision seeing Rey.He feels his hand burn and shoots lightning from his hand. His eyes turn yellow. Snoke tells him he is ready to fight Luke

Except he's not. Lol. It's like 30 Master Yodas vs 1 Youngling. I'm over exaggerating it but he really isn't.

Gotta agree with Nakky there. When emotionally unstable untrained force-sensitives are able to defeat him.
Even with support from his KoR - how is he supposed to handle Luke???

Personaly I agree with you. I have Luke show up at the end of the movie and kick some ass.

But I would like to know why you consider Luke so powerful? Is it because of his connection with Vader, the chosen one? Kylo shares that connection.
Is it because of the amount of training he recieved. Luke started training around 19 years old. He trained for another 35 years. That means he has about 35 years training and experience as a Jedi. Kylo is 30 years old. We do not know for sure how much traing he recieved but it has to be at least 10 years in my opinion. Plus he chooses the darkside, a quicker route to power according to Yoda in ESB. So they are not quite as far apart as you may think in my opinion. Even the most powerful Jedi master in Yoda was defeated by Sidious, a man with 650 years less experience than him.

Maybe you think because he was defeated by Rey that he must be weak. But things were not in his favour. He had multiple injuries [gun shot to the hip, shoulder gash form Finn]. Not to mention the mental edge to the fight. Was Kylo in the right frame of mind to fight her? He had just killed his father, I iagine he was still numd from that. Plus he was told to bring Rey back alive to Snoke. He did not want to kill her so that gave an edge to Rey. Even the greatest fighters can lose if nt propely prepared for a fight. Look at McGregor/Diaz for instance.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail

Not sure where the "cryptic" interpretation comes from, seemed pretty straight forward to me.

I'm sure they won't pass up the opportunity to show some darkside training. That will be a nice parallel to ESB and whatever we see happen between Luke and Rey.

Kylo not finishing his training was something predictable, there is no fun in a trained villain if he's that young. I recall more than a year ago saying while thinking there might still be Sith in the ST, that just like Rey is not a Jedi yet, nor is Kylo a Sith yet and that we will see them evolve at the same time and both will reach "Master" level by IX.:p

the "It is time to complete his training." reminds me of the Luke and Yoda dialogue in VI about his unfinished training and him rushing even without it. But this time with villains, so opposite ideals.:p

Even if he could shoot nukes from Kylo Ren would get swept aside like an ant from Skywalker. I don't think Luke's been on vacation on his island. His lightsaber skills may have diminished but his connection to the force has only gotten better

I think completing his training means having him kill Luke and Leia.

I can see in Episode 8 Kylo storming in to fight Luke, and Luke just casually, calmly, blocks every blow, then Force Pushes him away. Utterly no effort in it. And of course this just feeds Kylo's anger, insecurities, insanity. It'll drive him nuts.

They have to show Drago Kylo dragging a tree behind him in the snow. A tree from Endor.

Snoke determines that it is time to complete Kylo's training because he has completed a test that Snoke had set for him: confronting and killing his father.

Yeah, I think that's the tall and short of it.

I do wonder though if Snoke will punish Kylo for his failure with Rey.

I hope Snoke isn't as tall as his hologram, or Kylo will look awfully silly running through the jungle with Snoke on his back.

Personally, I don't think Snoke even wanted to finish Kylo's training at any time. He just wanted an enforcer who could do some cool tricks. And for a while, that worked. But now with Rey popping up, and the imminent return of Luke, he's forced to.

To me it's one of the most exciting parts of the next chapter.
A Dark Side counter to Luke and Yoda ESB.
This is just my two cents, Snoke dies at Kylos hand possibly at the End of the next chapter, not with a redemption angle but to replace him as Dark Lord in Chapter 9.
I'm not really seeing the repeat of Redeming Kylo, it would be much more fun to see him rise to the top spot, then his End in 9, as a Self-Fullfilling Prophecy maybe, KINDof along the lines of Palpatines end, or even better Anothed Lucas Project, think Queen Bavmorda in Willow, the Ritual gone wrong angle, totally my assumption but I think he's a good character to go that way, Full on Darkside un-redemiable to the end.

Oh, for goodness sake. You guys beat me to the joke. I was imagining a montage with "Hearts On Fire" playing in the background. Kinda had to stifle "breakfast revisited" there.
