Construction of Jabba began a few weeks ago. Chris Solecki, Steve Lukasik, Bryan Patrick Stoyle and myself have been building the framework. I'm posting a few pics from the build. He is over 13' long and will be about 6' tall. We're looking to have the frame completed this Saturday. We will definitely need more help after the framework is complete. After framing will be covering Jabba in foam and then after that we will skin Jabba with fleece. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to help, because after all none of us has built a Jabba before. So we're all in the same barge. I will post again after this Saturday's build session with an update of when we can start with the foam portion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Once my finger is healed completely I would love to offer my assistance. Sent from my SM-S120VL using Tapatalk
Hey ladies and gents! We have some updated picks AND a video. But before we get to that, many people have come up to me and Chris and said "I want to help, but I can't do ______. Well, we have a way for everyone in the group to help. Steve Lukasik came across a fantastic looking Salacious Crumb that would go absolutely fantastic with our rotund slug. The cost is about $200 plus shipping. Perhaps, if you do not feel comfortable or are not able to help with building, perhaps consider donating a few bucks towards "The Crumb". The more folks that can donate cash, the less cash we individually have to donate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Next steps for the build are: 1. Fiberglassing the skull and jaw and connect them together. 2. Attach support bars for mesh wire. 3. Finish the tail mechanism. 4. Attach chicken wire. 5. Foam placement (will need some more folks with this part.) 6. Attaching fabric.(Also need people to help with this.) 7. Painting the platform 8. Painting Jabba Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like lots of fun. Thank you for not burning down our garage. I'm ready when the foam and fabric comes along.
Perhaps this was discussed at the last meeting that I was not at, but if you could notify the members when work is to be done perhaps more can pitch in.
We should be getting to that point soon Tom. We should have a better idea of that time frame at tomorrow's meeting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here are a few more images from Jabba's head after fiberglassing. Will add another layer on the jaw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here are a few more pics from today's build. We'll provide an update at tonight's meeting and repost after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quick update: we will finish the the chicken wire this week. We will resume two weeks after that. By then we should be ready to apply the foam. We will need help for that. I will confirm the date and post. We have 2- two person teams to operate Jabba during SWN: Marty & William Tom S & Emily Also, if you would like to contribute to "the Crumb fund", please give your donation to Steve Lukasik so he will be able to place the order ASAP. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GREAT NEWS!!!!! We are ready to apply the foam to Jabba! The Chicken wire was finished a few moments ago. We can definitely use some extra help with this. We wanted to get together this Saturday at my house starting at 11am. My address is on the roster. If you don't have it feel free to send me a PM. We would love the additional hands. Every one that is there will play a part in bringing our gluttonous gangster to life. Here are a few pics from the chicken wire completion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We have our 14 and 16 year old grandsons for the weekend. I think the older one has a hockey game in the morning, but if you'll be working longer than during the morning I'll bring them over to help. They're both Star Wars crazy and would love to be part of this, as would I!
We will start at 11 and probably go until around 2pm. If you want to send a message to see where we are at, we'd love to have you stop by. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
