Always thought he was a cool character who could have survived through the Clone Wars until it was time he died to pass on the mantle to the more popular Boba, I rarely get a sense of fans wishing he lived a bit longer past AOTC. Does anyone agree he had more potential going forward or was his death necessary at the start of the Clone Wars?
I think the only way this would have worked is if you got rid of Greivous in ROTS and have an Obi Vs Jango round 2 subplot. As it is though it works fine as it is, it allows for a death scene in AOC (which I think needed one) and allowed Mace to have his bad *** moment.
IMO Grievous is a far more interesting villain the Jango, and I think the latter got his due. His presence as the prime clone would raise too many questions, all the answers of which died with him. Not to mention it gave Mace a pretty epic showdown as well.
No way. Jango played his part, fulfilled his role, fought Jedi on Kamino and in the arena and finally lost his head . He was no longer needed for the story. Game over, man. Enough villains left in ROTS. But fans tend to over-hype Jango just like they do Boba. To me they are minor disposable characters, period.
