alright.......Boba Fett used to be my favorite character in the star wars universe ...then it was Darth Maul but he got killed.....now it is Jango Fett ...but he got killed too......i know there is a pattern of killing off characters he introduces in the same movie but would it have made a difference to kill off Jango in epsidoe III......did the coolest guy have to be taken out so early?

His purpose was fulfilled. He wouldn't have anything to do.

    Yeah right!

If you go up against Mace and you are not a Sith Lord, I'd give it a 99.9% chance that you are going to die. The only reason I accept the fact the Jango gave Obi such a hard time is because he also had Slave I backing him up at the time.

Mace taking Jango down fast was the only way it could have went without degrading Mace's character IMO.

I think Jango should have lived into E3. He had to die, but I would have loved to see Anakin fight Jango before confronting Dooku. After all, Jango was Dooku's body gaurd.

I don't think the point of the saga is "cool characters." A character lives if he/she needs to. Those who do not need to live die. Just because someone is "cool," doesn't mean he/she is important to the plot.

I think Jango served his purpose. But his death will probably effect how the Clones eventually become Stormtroopers. Maybe.

According to George Lucas, the reason the clones are downgraded in IV-Vi is because they are clones of clones. He said the genetic material is degraded because they are no longer using the original. This is during the commentary of AotC, at about the time when Jango hits his head on the hatch of the Slave 1 when he is leaving the Cloners.

jedi master ousley: i know the point of the saga is not 'cool characters'....i did not say that at all...all i said was maybe that he was killed off too early...what harm could Jango have caused the plot if he had been killed in episode III in a more dramatic, fitting-for-his-character death? going out in a blaze of glory similar to mace? that way there would always be a sybolism found linking the two characters....the only reason Jango messed with "the man" was because he was pissed off because mace showed him "disrespect" when he put his lightsaber to Jango's throat....so he went after mace thinkin he had him in the bag......but i still think it could not have hurt to leave for episode III

Some people think Jedi are invincible gods who can never...ever...be beaten by someone who doesn't have force knowledge.

They are not invincible. Your precious Jedi DO lose...and they're gonna lose big after the next movie.

And it won't be Darth Vader killing them all single handedly....it'll be NON-FORCE USING Stormtroopers.

Jango should have had a much more intense battle with Jango onscreen. They didn't make him the standard for the Clone Army because he was a cream puff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jango never fought himself. ;)

I thought Jango was extremely cool...particularly in his fight against Obi-Wan.

I'm well aware that Obi-Wan couldn't kill Jango, and that really evened things up, but it was still a good fight.

Plus, it served another purpose, showing that Jedi can still be lethal without their lightsabers (like Luke and the Rancor, and the prisoners on Geonosis).

Jango also shot down a Jedi Master. That's pretty impressive.

Plus, he stood his ground when the Reek was charging, which I'm sure 99.99% of people would not have done.

I think he served his purpose admirably.

Well said, seeing as how AOTC had so much action towards the end, I'm impressed by Jango's presence among all those Jedi... If it had been me, I'd have grabbed my son and got the hell out of there. ;)

Jango also shot down a Jedi Master. That's pretty impressive.

Coleman Trebor was also a Council Member too. Jango died because his Jet pack didn't work. Im sure he was so used to it that when it failed he was like...

    "What the-"

Then the Heads start to Roll.

I always thought he should have lived to Episode 3 too.

Well i don't think he was killed off too early as much as too easily, i think if George Lucas had added him shooting up some other Jedi first then it would have made the movie so much better.

    Yes, It's true...

I had my head sliced off a bit fast. (username)

It was not a happy moment because I loved Jango like a brother until his end, but I'm not sure that having him live until Ep 3 wouldv'e been so thrilling.

Jango did what he had to do. Plus, he was going up against the second best Jedi in the galaxy. I would have been surprised if he survived the small fight with Windu.
