I'm working on a level for the game Jedi Outcast featuring Jawas and I need some Jawa sounds. Since this problem has probably been faced by fanfilm makers before I thought this would be the place to ask. I have found some existing sounds from the films and computer games but they are mostly low quality and do not suit my cutscenes.

Has anyone made Jawa sounds for their fan film and got any tips or know what sound filters to use? The Troops film had new Jawa sounds so there must be a way.

I found an article about the sounds from Star Wars that said the Jawa sounds were based on the speech of peoples from the Himalayas. Any native Mongolian speakers out there? (I think that will have to be plan B).

I'm not sure how to make them, but if you need reference material, check out this file from the sound bunker. Among other things, it has a pile of Jawa sounds.

    Have fun.

Thanks Padawan Nick, that's a really good collection of sounds and I would like to use some of the Jawa ones if that's OK.

The only thing is they seem to have got a bit overcompressed along the way and suffered a bit. Could you tell me what the original source was, or do you have better quality versions? I already have the original Episode 1 Racer sounds but I am not sure where the rest of them came from.

If there aren't any other versions thanks anyway, you've been a good help.

Wispering: Lots. There's always more to learn.

ducan: The original sounds came from Seth. I just converted them to mp3 and zipped 'em to save on server bandwidth. If you send me an email (address in my profile) I'll send you a zipped set of the original WAV's.

    Have fun.
