I'm sure they can. But I doubt Jawas would let the Jedi take one of there own. and Hutts well that would be akward for training they're so big.

I guess it would be kind of stupid to see a Hutt swinging a lightsaber. [face_laugh]

They can become Jedi,it's they are in the Outer Rim and can't be identified by Jedi as easily as people in the Rebublic.

::pulls out her copy of Star Wars: The Essential Chronology (crappy book, really- gets a lot of details wrong. But a good starting place)::
I see reference here to one Beldorian the Hutt. He is described as "An ancient, force-wielding Hutt and former Jedi Knight... staggeringly large even for a Hutt and [posessing] none of the corpluent rolls that immobilized lazy Hutts like Jabba. The old Jedi Hutt was all muscle and fire..." (Star Wars: The Essential Chronology, by Kevin J. Anderson and Daniel Wallace, Del Rey Books. Pages119 and 120).

So to answer your question: Yes, apparantly Hutts can be Jedi. I've also seen Ewok Jedi done quite well. A Jawa jedi would be interesting- they're kleptomaniacs by nature, and exploring a Jawa Padawan's journey as she/he resists the urge to pocket everything shiny would certainly make for a good humor story. A good serious one, too, if handled right.

From Chris' Review of Planet of Twilight, where there is mention of a Hutt Jedi:

For example, the Hutt Jedi. That should be an oxy-moron. It's also a bit of a continuity fudge, which is my number one pet peeve. According to West End Games Hutts are Force blind...so how's there a Hutt Jedi?

So there shouldn't be a Hutt Jedi.

I could see it a Jawa jedi pocketing master's lightsabers and comlinks... Luke and Tahiri would probably be the only people who would understand it.

    I'm not sure.

Jabba says, that the Jedi Mind Triocks wouldn't work on him. So I thought a Hutt wasn't able to sense the Force and use it - as kind of creatures standing "outside" the Force.

On the other hand, I see Beldorion. He's a Hutt and he's a Jedi. But he appears not in the movie, but in a novel.

I could explain it in a way that BEldorion is really ancient, and since then the Hutts have evolved into a different direction - evolving in the way of evolution.

    So I'm not sure.

Mind tricks couldn't work on Jabba because he was too strong minded.

As for a Hutt Jedi, I have a prominent one in my story (see sig below)

I agree with Spike about the idea of Hutts being too strong-minded. I don't think they're force-immune. If, for instance, a edi were to forcepush/pull a Hutt, it would probably work. Just like it would probably work on Wato.

I saw a drawing of a Hutt Jedi once in an RPG book. Those short arms don't exactly help in lightsaber combat though.

Well, I don't believe a Jedi needs long arms - I guess really extraordinary Jedi could do even without arms - just guiding the Lightsabre through the Force. :)

Everyone's focusing on the Hutts what bout Jawas? I wonder if Jawas would keep there traditional garb? I think that they would have a Lightsaber that gets a little bolty thingy onto a droid.

Personally, I think a Jawa can become a Jedi, but I think it's as likely as a Tusken Raider becomes one, because they live for themselves.

Well in the EU, there is a comic series about a Jedi going to the Tusken Raiders. He then marries and their child is naturally a Tusken Jedi.

The first one's Name is Sharad Hett, and his son was A'Sharad Hett.

Ki-Adi Mundi and Aurra Sing were involved. I think Aurra Sing killed the father.

I've got this info from the german Star Wars Fact Files number 82.

Tahiri grew up with the Tusken's. So logically they could be aware of a Force.
