Sorry if this has been posted before.

I'm about 5'4 with little sewing abilities. LOL

Is there some sort of simple pattern I can use to make a Jedi robe for myself? What kind of material would you use? Where can one get material to make a Jedi robe?

Thanks for any input. I would love to learn how to sew, so any tutorials would help greatly. Thanks.

Yes there is and have made it myself for a friend.

some simple modifications and voila it is done, takes a while but is fairly simple sewing.

crinkled muslin for the tunics, the pattern uses a stretch fabric for one piece, but the end result looks good.

I would still like to do more modifications to it to make it look better.

Please note the top-most tiny print, where it says:
"Costumes and Props forum Links" check out the FAQ, The thread index and the tutorial list. Much of what you seek is there. Also, there's a thread just a few down asking a similar question about female Jedi

For the tunics, the best fabric is linen or raw silk. However, for your first attempt, and especially if you don't sew much, go for something much cheaper. Get 45 inch muslin on sale or what ever you can find in cotton for $1-2 per yard.

If you live in a warm climate, stay away from synthetic fabric. Cotton is best and cheapest, usually.

In the films, the robes are wool. Again, I wouldn't recommend buying $7-10/yd wool for your first attempt if you're not an experienced seamstress. Get a heavier cotton, look for "bottom weight".

Unfortunately, the "where" is somewhat more limited these days than in the past. If you can stomach shopping at Walmart (I refuse! It's the Evil Empire) then cheap fabric can be found there. Otherwise it's the chains, such as JoAnn's.

My fav on-line retailer is Phoenix Textiles
