I just started to read Jedi Search, and they keep making references on how there was a cvil war on the planet Coruscant, and that Luke had been the apprentice of the resurrected emperor. Luke says that he let the dark side in, and didn't fall, and now he's stronger, and all that. Also, Leia already had Anakin.

I just wanted to know what book all the happened in. I thought that It went from "The Last Command" right into Jedi Search. What book was all this in, or what. Thanks everybody.

It took place in the comic series Dark Empire which was made around the same time, that the TTT was being writen. You can get the TPB for it from Amazon.com I think. Not sure about Dark Empire 2 or Empire's End. I haven't read those two but I really want to. There pretty much inbetween TTT and the Jedi Academy Trilogy. Its a huge moment in the Star Wars universe that you'll notice Zahn tries to ignore and greatly downplay when he wrote the Hand of Thrawn novels. I think KJA was the first to reference those stores.

Dark Empire also recently got a third printing, so it should be easily available through most bookstores.

It's quite an epic storyline- as you can tell by the few references in Jedi Search, quite a few things happened in it.

Dark Empire 2 was interesting also, but isn't necessary to read (you should be able to get by pretty much with only the original Dark Empire). DE2 should still be available.

Empire's End is kinda low quality, but wraps up the loose ends from Dark Empire 2. EE is kinda hard to find, but might find itself reprinted in the future (likely as part of a larger collection of stories).

Probably the most interesting aspect of the original Dark Empire is that, thematicly, it is very similar to what Episodes 7, 8 & 9 once would have been like. Probably why Lucas liked the series so much.

NeoStar9 is right. Out of all the comics, the Dark Empire line has affected the EU the most.

Oh yeah. That's another thing. Glad it was mentioned. Out of all the EU, its the closet you can find to what episode 7-9 would have been if they were to have been made due to its story elements. Not 100% close but the closest you'll find. Word is that Lucas actually enjoyed Dark Empire and even gave copies of it to his staff one christmas.

If you go over to the Timetales links, they have something called the Dune Sea Scrolls on the left, which has transcripts of the audio for DE, DEII, and EE, so you get the story for free, but none of the art. It's how I got the story.
