Jedi v/s predator.

At one of the last conventions I attended [dressed as a predator.] I sat around with some fellow con goers, and the subject of the momment was who would win between a jedi and a predator....I think we all agreed that it would depend on the setting the fight would take place at. in an open arena we gave it to the jedi...but in a wooded or jungle setting we gave it to the pred. A popular question was what would happen if the jedi tried to deflect the plasma cannon shot, with a saber...would it explode.??? just wanted to get some ideas and thoughts...some of my friends were thinking this would make a good fanfilm.

 

Cross-overs are bad. Bad bad bad. BAAAAD.

Sure, why not? Luminara Unduli gets shot down over a jungle that happens to be a predator's hunting ground... maybe after
they fight it out to a draw, the predator can brand its rune clan symbol on Luminara's forehead.

 

I think a lot of bounty hunters are, if not direct rip-offs of Predators then they?re at least heavily inspired, so the kind of fight you?re imagining may have already been done. The challenge is to do it one better. A big thing with these crossovers is figuring out if the fight is:

A) Just dumping two combatants together and seeing them adapt to each other?s ability or
B) Giving each of them either prep time or at least foreknowledge of the other?s abilities.

The latter is important for Predators since they seem technologically capable yet honour-bound (as are Jedi). For example, it?s possible they would have some technology that makes them immune to light sabers, but would they use it? Maybe not.

You could also use it to poke around with the mythology a bit. For example, contrast a Jedi Master?s lessons to their Apprentice vs. an elder Predator?s lessons to their pupil.

 

Kinda seems like a stale mate....like you said, the pred's hunt for trophies, they want the challenge, but If a jedi knew this he would not challenge the pred. Seems like the predator would need for the jedi to strike first, But A would think that a jedi would not strike first....hmmmmm maybe a sith then. Pred v/s vader. we could have the gauntlets and armor saber proof. I think it make for a good fight. the pred has the cloaking device...but vader has the ability to sense the un-known...blades/saber..pred may have the better vission though, not sure if vader can see in multiple spectrums. Speed and agility might be close.....This could work...would have to leave out the trip mines, and returning disc's etc....but then again vader does have the force choke....

 

mhe, I don't think it'd work. Jedi? Maybe, just maybe. Sith? No way. Vader would electro-choke that predator faster than it could say... well, anything. A predator would stand no chance at all against a force-user. Now Predator vs alien... THAT would work... Oh, wait, it didn't.

 

While I'm not usually a fan of crossovers, I have thought this could be done well. I think a good crossover just needs to TRULY work within the established lore of both. Without airing it all here, I do have some ideas if you're thinking about giving this a shot. PM me if you're interested.

 

Well, it might have if they stopped letting all those freaking humans think their characters were somehow important to us.
