tx to clonewars4u i now have visited http://darkhorse.com/profile/preview.php?theid=13-083 and now we know that john ostrander and jan duursema were greenlighted to use Jerec (at least in name) in the upcoming issue of SW Republic. Apparently he is to be ANOTHER jedi master who escaped the purge (leaving me to believe that the purge is so terrible that the remaining living jedi simply go to pieces) is there any other evidence anyone can provide on background info for jerec? as to how he goes and joins up with the empire? tx in advance
New Essential Guide to Characters tells us how he used to go off on far wandering missions looking for aincient artefacts and such. High Inquisitor Tremayne himself hunted down Jerec and offered him a job.
He was the main villain in Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. He also appears in the Dark Forces novellas and in a Galaxy of Fear book as well.
His role in Jedi Knight and the related Dark Forces novellas, I believe, also touch upon his history.
Each Galaxy of Fear novel had a cameo or supporting role by some other big name Star Wars character. From Fett and Yoda (in the same issue no less) to Wedge, Dash Rendar, Jerec, and Thrawn.

NEGTC says Sedriss outranked them all, the whole lot---prophets, Jerec, the whole she-bang. Skywalker finished him in one push.
Did Jerec personally train all 6 Dark Jedi under his command? Because that, along with being able to fight with a lightsaber while blind, is pretty impressive. Alot more impressive than anything Sedriss ever did
It's been a while since I played the game or read the books, but IIRC Sariss trained the kid. I forget his name. Yun, maybe. I don't recall whether Jerec trained the others or just collected them.
Jerec trained Sariss first, then boc and Maw i belive. Yun was Sariss's apprentice and i have idea who trained gorc and pic.
According to the Dark Side Sourcebook, Jerec was way out in the Unknown Regions looking for Jedi and Sith artifacts. When he returned from his isolated work, he found the REpubl.ic had become an Empire. So basically he was out of the Republic proper when the Purge happened,
Sedriss may have outranked Jerec, but that is just rank, has nothing to do with power. Remmber that DE: JK claimed Jerec was the most powerful Dark Jedi since Vader's death and was almost as powerful as Vader.
Well, a ysalmiri would probably have fixed Jerec up pretty well. (Would he chop himself up with his own lightsaber before some, say Kyle, could kill him?) Who's padawan was he, anyways?
Preview page two only says Master Jerec. The first page says Master Skywalker, who just gained his Knighthood. That doesn't mean Jerec is actually a Jedi Master . . . unless the issue expands on this. Remember, AOTC also called Ewen Master Obi-Wan and Master Kenobi interchangeably. Just a formality.
Yeah but Jedi don't usually call each other Master when referring to another in a off hand sort of way, unless they really are masters. Obi Wan is called a Master because Anakmin is his opadawan and refers to him as such. Anakin is called master by non Jedi. Those are honorific. In the same bubble, Obi Wan refers to an actual Jedi Master, in which the title master is not just honorific. Besides which, the Dark Side sourcebook says Jerec was a Jedi Master.

Maybe he was in the same class as Mace, Qui-Gon, Tahl and Plo Koon. Not getting enough attention by the EU drove him insane and to the dark side... About his age... he looks rather old in JK, but not too old... anway, in SW looks can be deceiving. Obi-Wan is approx. 57 years in ep4, Qui-Gon is about the same age in ep1, Mace is, well, old, and Dooku is over 80 (just like Christopher Lee). To me, he looks like a contemporary Phil Collins, maybe a bit younger, which would make him 50 - 60 years. So he's about 20 around ep1, 30 during the Clone Wars etc... a bit younger younger than Obi-Wan. Still, as he's a character in the SW galaxy, his age could be anything.
I think Mace is about 45 in Ep. I. Because I think he was about 30 at the beginning of the Jedi Apprentice series and that starts about 13 years before Ep. I.
