SWRPF Archive Jon and Carl.

Introduction

Normally Jon would have been able to outrun the two rancor beasts that captured him, but then again, his legs and hand are usually not duct taped together. It was a valiant effort, worthy of the highest civilian medal Coruscant has to offer. However, it would seem that rancor beasts do not like valor, almost as much as the do not like food that runs away. Some would say that rancors consider the two actions one and the same. Jon is thrown high into the air by the larger rancor( nicknamed GrawAwARwaAR, on account of the noise he continually made while chasing a hopping, duct taped Jon.) and gravity throws him straight onto a large rock. Jon begins to cry, and looks over at his predators. From what he can make out, the rancors seem to be arguing over who gets the left leg, and who gets the right.
While the two beasts debate for the right of Jon's appendages a hidden Carl sneaks over to the frightened, crying Jon. Carl tells Jon to stop crying. Jon calls Carl a name, but Carl cannot make it out, for Jon also has duct tape on his mouth. Carl puts a finger over his mouth and shows Jon the piece of glass that he has. A sharp tiny piece of glass, not larger than 3 inches. Carl begins sawing away at Jon's duct tape restraints as the rancors start to wrestle. GrawAwARwaAR really wants Jon's left leg.
"Carl is a maniac." Jon bickers in his head. "Stupid, stupid, stupid Carl! This is why I don't go places with Carl, there's always some hidden agenda. 'Lets go sunbathing on Tatooine, Jon. Sorry you were a dancing slave to a Hutt for two months Jon, I was undercover foiling an illegal intergalactic trade plot.' 'Lets go camping on Ottethan, Jon. Oops, I guess I forgot to tell you that there is warlords on Ottethan, Jon, warlords that I'm supposed to be arresting. Oh, I did I also forgot to mention that Ottethan has a gigantic population of RANCORS, Jon, rancors that like to eat people.'" Jon begins to cry even harder. "Dumb Jedi ruin everything."
Carl finishes cutting the duct tape, and rips the small piece off of Jon's mouth. Carl has bushy brown hair that spews in every direction, and his face is covered in dirt. Carl gives a silent laugh as he bobs his head up and down. His clothing is torn, and he doesn't seem to have a lightsaber on him.
"I hate you." Jon says, glaring his eyes at Carl. "I'm serious man, you use me for my speeder, I swear."
Carl gives a shocked, innocent look and screams in a whisper. "You're breaking my heart Jon, now get up and start running before you get us killed!"
"Before I get us killed. Oh you... you... this is the last straw man, we're not friends anymore!" Jon whispers as they both run away.

Question 1: Why were Jon's appendages duct taped?

Game explanation
This game may be a little nontraditional.
-Over the span of this game, RPG participants will control the two main characters, Carl and Jon, and any npc's that happen to be around.
The Characters.
Jon is an 26 year old human restaurant owner from Coruscant, who tries to live a normal life. Carl is a 23 year old, crazy, Jedi Knight who seems to have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Carl saved Jon's life in the past, and Jon made the mistake of pledging his life to Carl's service.( Jon had only said it to be polite, but Carl continually reminds Jon of his promise.) Their friendship can be described as dysfunctional at best.
