I thought his name was a reference to Edward Snowden, a character Gordon-Levitt played. But it's another Beastie Boys reference for the Abedendo species, apparently. And JGL wants him back too! Maybe he can show up and just rat people out about illegal parking. From the man himself: "And I hope Slowen Lo gets to make another appearance in Star Wars in some way."
No doubt he wanted a bigger role. Perhaps he deserved one. Such a great performance in what is not such a great film.
Haha the dumb voice kinda makes it for me, mostly because what the hell accent is it? Also the fact he's a parking space enforcement busybody rat is kinda hilarious.
I like the parking enforcement busybody rat part of the concept/ joke. Particularly because it’s a spaceship and I like the absurdity of spaceship parking violations. But then as with much of TLJ, the joke is hammered to death by giving the guy the dumbest cartoon voice possible. The joke would’ve been funnier if it was less clearly aware of, and pleased with, itself.
