me and my girlfriend of 1 1/2 years are in a "long distance" relationship for the summer because she is staying with her grandparents who live in florida ( I live in NYC ) . the only way we have contact is on pc ( aim ) . her grandparents are not social and dont make phone calls so they only have local not long distance calling . plus they are strict and wont let her make calls anyway . we agreed before we left that everyday we would talk on pc and that comforted me . we talked for a few days then strangly she wasnt on for a week . I was confused until earlier today when I got a collect call from her saying she had broke her grandparents pc . I asked her what happened and she said she had installed kazaa so she could listen to music over the summer and that after the pc crashed and wouldnt boot anymore . I know the evils of kazaa I had to run every spyware program in existence to get my pc back to normal after I installed it . she wanted to fix the pc but her grandfather told her not to bother and threw it away . and they are not buying another one . so no phone , no pc and no other way to keep in contact for the next 2 months . I wont see her until september and as much as I wish I could trust her im afraid she will cheat during that time . she admitingly did so to her previous boyfriend so there's no way to know if she will do it again .

my relationship with my girlfriend = major part of my life

    cause = kazaa

one day I will become a powerfull hacker and will seek justice on kazaa's servers .

    I promise

No offence, but your girlfriend isn't exactly the smartest sheep in the paddock if she's installing Kazaa on other people's computers without knowing what it does.

Yeah, and it's way more fun getting a letter than an email or IM.

BTW, why don't you capitalise your sentences?

I'm sure you will find some way.

Letters are good. I used to have my girlfriend send me a tape of her talking as if I was in the room with her while she away in New Zealand.

    Try it!

I was at 7-11 today and saw $5 long distance calling cards. They were right by the Phillies Blunts.

Umm, her grandparents don't need long distance service for you to call her.

Write letters? But that would require a sufficiency in literacy!

If you think she's going to cheat on you, she will. Dump her. And now.

But how can he possibly dump her? He has no way of communicating with this girl!

If only someone would invent a small, cheap, portable telephone that can be concealed on one's person. And maybe have some sort of text-messaging function for cheap communication between other people with similar phones.

Man, I can't wait for the future when stuff like that is invented. It's gonna be swell!

They decided to throw away a functioning computer?

These are the evils of consumerism, kids.

comet, also, if I were you I'd be very careful about being in a relationship with someone who's cheated in the past. I'm sorry if I sound negative, but I'm not sure I understand how you can trust her. If you need to keep an eye on her to be sure she isn't cheating, it doesn't sound like a great relationship.

I'm going to tell you a wonderful little story.

There once was a woman named Carmen. She was very much in love with this man named Luis. They got engaged, and were very happy. However, Luis decided he wanted to go to college before they got married. He'd recieved a full scholarship through the military. The only catch was that the school he wanted to go to was in Mississippi, which was very far away from where Carmen and Luis lived. So he posed the following question to Carmen: should they get married now, or should he go to school, and get married after he graduated?

For Carmen, the answer was very simple. He should go to school, of course! Carmen valued education highly, and knew how much he wanted to go to school, and though she was touched that he'd give up school for him, she told him to go.

So he went. And due to various reasons, he was only able to get back to visit Carmen once in the four years he was at school. There was no computer in her house, so Carmen was unable to send him e-mails or communicate through AIM, or anything like that. And making long-distance calls was pretty much out of the question, so for four long years their only mode of communication was letters.

Four years later, he came back to Carmen, and they got married.

They stayed married for over 40 years, and had two beautiful children, and their oldest granddaughter was absolutely gorgeous. Their youngest granddaughter wasn't all that ugly.

The moral of the story is: WRITE LETTERS, YA LAZY BUM.
