Keira Knightley as Padme

I know it's too late of course, but I was just wondering if anyone would've liked Keira Knightley as Padme instead of Natalie Portman (still love Nat, but I think Keira would've done a possible better job.). I think she would looked great in those Ep2 corsets.

I swear I thought that was always NP just digitally added in so there would be two of her.

so how come KK didn't get more credit/fame from TPM she was in it a lot how come none of the books and DVD extras and stuff talk about her, she was a pretty big secondary character, she had to wear just as many funky costumes as NP.

Thats weird I'm going to have to watch TPM tonight.

Keira's and Nat's voices are quite different. You can still hear a bit of a British accent in Keira's lines. Keira's voice is also a bit deeper than Nat's; just watch the scene when they're outside the Naboo hangar preparing to take the ship to Coruscant and compare the two.

I agree. I wish for continuity's sake Keira had been back as a handmaiden for AOTC. Oh well.

 

I said this along time ago, before Keira become famous. I think Knightley would have done a way better job, she is much more friendlier and bubblier than Portman and can capture the screen more. And adding to that, she is a far better actress than Portman.

*drools at the thought of Keira in that little black number in the fireplace scene*

What is the difference Keira n Natalie look the same and act pretty much the same. Maybe not exactly alike but use a little make up and you got twins so either one would of worked I bet GL and crew with their magic making crew could of fooled everyone had Keira playing Padme the whole time and had Natalie taking the credit

 

While we're talking about body doubles, in AOTC when Corde says "thank you lieutenant" , isn't it actually Natalie?

That is Natalie's voice, but it's Corde's body, since Padme was flying a Naboo Fighter.

I think it was set up that way to make the audience think that really was Padme walking down the ramp from the chrome starship.

That would have been nice, royalguard96. It would have been sadder if Sabe had died in the line of duty rather than Corde since we were somewhat familiar with Sabe's character from TPM. But as you said...oh well.

I completely agree with you, Grilled-Sarlacc! I think Rose Byrne looks far more like Leia than Natalie does, too, but that's just me being weird.

I don't think her age would have been an impact on this side of things. Aslong as their is no nudity, her age would be fine. Keira also flashed her merchandise when she was 16 in the British film The Hole, so once again age wouldn't have been an issue

Oh but you see in the USofA it is an issue if a 17 year old girl would have shown they skin she did...well the movie would never be seen in the US or they would just cut the scene out. Again that's the US for you.

The Hole was banned in the US for the nudity. Ahwell.

 

Yeah a girl around the age of 18 showing her hole body well that's not something a lot of people in the US like. But 18 in above they can show as much skin as they want.

But as to KK or NP as Padme. I think of KK more as Sabe then Padme.
