I want to make a costume based on that picture I put together, and I was wondering how to do it. I want it to be easy to wear, and still attractive as well...

I was thinking a light fabric for the red shirt and pants, and a vinyl/pleather light leather for the pauldron/cape. As well as getting red eye contacts, and a neck length red wig, but I still need to know how I would gather the patterns to hodgepodge together a master pattern (Frankenpatterning).

With an attitude like that, people aren't going to be too anxious to jump at the chance to help you out. [face_shame_on_you]

In the past 3 months, have you done anything on your own toward making this costume? Like read through some other costume threads here, looked at other costuming sites, talked to anyone you might know who's made a costume before or knows how to sew, looked at patterns on websites like Simplicity, or McCall's for example? Have you broken down your costume into individual components, to figure out what it might take to make each piece?

Or are you just waiting for someone to hold your hand and tell you exactly how to make everything?

Don't expect too many immediate responses right now, many of the best costumers from this board are going to be in Atlanta for the next few days at Dragon*Con.

There are a lot of popular threads here, you need to keep your own thread alive, like maybe posting some of your own ideas or progess. Threads can fall off the first page pretty quickly and get forgotten of you don't do something to keep them at the forefront.

Man this costume appears to be one that is put together by sight.
For me that isn't too much of a problem, but if you're a beginner sewer that could be difficult.

You could at least use a pattern for the pants, and the coat/skirt thing... just use a straight skirt pattern and then modify it from there, and then glove patterns can be found several places, I believe Vouge even has a glove pattern at the moment. And the shirt looks pretty straight foreward as a long sleeve type of shirt... there are patterns for those as well. For the padding on the sleeves I would suggest doing a type of quilting-- like they did on Leia's Hoth outfit. And then it looks like there is some embroidery on the front of the shirt, that can even be accomplished with a normal sewing machine, using a satin stitch. I have a 20 yr old or more model and it has a satin stitch so I figure most sewing machines if not all should have that built in.

The top crossover will probably be the most difficult part as I don't know what kind of a pattern you could use for that. Trial and error is what I would try, IF your feeling up to the task. Perhaps someone else has a clue on that one.

    Anyways goodluck!

    God bless!
